I posted this in the reddit thread about official offer letter designs and it was pointed out that we misspelled "official"

It’s not like the misspelling was on a small word in the middle of a paragraph... it was in the freaking title and oversized! Wow.

Fleck never gave the backup spell-checker/proofreader any playing time. What do you guys expect?

How truly embarrassing for a major academic institution to misspell a sixth grade level word. To make it worse, it appears on a showcase scholarship offer. Heads should roll.

They only accept a commitment from those who spot that. It’s a trap to see if they have good situational awareness.

Plus, in football nobody likes the officials.

Honestly though, details matter in any enterprise. Napoleon said, "the winning of wars starts with the shining of a boot". From top to bottom people need to be conscientious if you want success.

But hey everyone is friends. Give whoever did that a “good try do better” and continue to laugh it off. Another sign Lester doesn’t pay attention to details. Anything with your name that goes out to the top prep programs on the area needs to be reviewed with a fine tooth comb.

Hey guys, George S. Patton used atrocious grammar and misspellings all the time. We should have fired his olive drab badonkadonk and let the impeccable Lloyd Fredendall lead us to victory. We need a general who will never use a split infinitive!

There's a show on HBO right now called "Succession."

If they make a movie of the 2018 Broncos, one of the actors is a SPITTING image of Coach Lester.

Wouldn’t a simple email (or phone call) about the error to WMU Football office be a better approach than embarrassing the coach & university even more by posting the error online?

Has anyone contacted someone at WMU about this yet? (don't want to duplicate efforts)

Last year ECU didn't have just one misspelling on the offer letter... but two. And, like us, one of the misspellings was in the huge-font headline.

For anyone wondering, they fixed the mistake. The last few offer letters I saw posted on Twitter were corrected.
