Just one more month
I just had a flashback to my living room about 10 years ago. It was clean and comfortable. Sunny, fall day. Windows open. Treats in the kitchen. College Football on the telly.

Great feeling.

I'm usually predicting double-digit wins about now. While my win-total predictions are subdued this year, I'm as excited as ever for WMU football. Hopefully we'll have lots of fun camp discussions over the next month, and a sold out Waldo on the last Friday night of summer.

Expectations for this team and Lester? Is there a win total that Lester needs to get to in order to avoid the hot seat? I can't see WMU firing him after two years, but I would be very disappointed with another 6-6 season. Heck even 7 wins would be a little underachieving in my eyes. I'd like to see 8 wins personally.

I love it. Closing in on my favorite time of year. Live the weather, love the feeling of football season. And college football particularly. My passion for our broncos reaches it's peak. I am planning on attending the opener against Syracuse, but haven't gotten tickets yet because my son may come home that weekend. Don't buy up all the tickets yet.

A win against Syracuse would be an incredible start to the season, and I think it's doable. I really hope this team excites us.

When is the last time we opened at home? When have we opened at home vs a P5?

My favorite time of the year is the opening of college football season.

In theory it absolutely should be. I haven't heard ANY buzz being built up for it, but I don't have cable, watch network TV, or listen to local radio. 03-lmfao I hope administration is working their asses off to ensure a sellout.

If it's not, a few more people should follow Terrentine out the door.

I hate that we're playing on a Friday night, and STILL...MSU will be playing at the same time. We can't get away from these other douchebag teams.

Come on, Kalamazoo.

RE: Just one more month
I just purchased tickets online and had plenty to choose from. I doubt highly the game will be a sellout or even close. Syracuse is a P5 team, but not exactly Oklahoma or Florida State. More importantly, last season was a dud for us, even by the standards of those most optimistic for the new staff, and it lost the great momentum that had been gained the year before. We need to beat Syracuse, and be at least very competitive against Michigan the following week. At that point we should pummel Delaware St, and then have Georgia St, which will be anything but an easy win in my mind; especially on the road. If we are 3-1 at that point there will be excitement, and not just with the fans, but with the players. That extra boost of energy can translate to the field. The MAC season starts with Miami, and that will be a huge game I think, followed by EMU. Besides Delaware St, there are no cakewalks there. If we are a good team, prepared to play, we should be in good shape. If not, there are very few games we couldn't lose. We need to go for the jugular against every opponent, from the beginning and to the end of each game. Play to destroy teams, not to win close games.

Are students even on campus? That weekend is close of summer. Many fans and students won't even be in Kalamazoo.

School starts the Wednesday before the Friday night game. Everybody will be in Kalamazoo and it will be a lively atmosphere.

If we can go 3-1 in OOC play and take care of business in conference, there’s a chance we could be a top 25 team. That’s being highly speculative tho, but still not unrealistic.

RE: Just one more month
I just realized the game starts at 6 pm. I assumed it would start at 7, although I prefer the 6 start time. Anyone know why it's at 6? I am taking the day off work anyway, so will get to Kalamazoo by early afternoon. The 6 start means I can probably drive the 3 1/2 hour trip home without stopping at a hotel for the night, but MSN having a game that will get out just before I am zooming through Lansing might slow me down.

Why are you picking on jugglers? They have it tough enough

Lol. I did it again, and spell check didn't have my back. But you are right, jugglers have a lot on their mind.

Hoping for 20-25 thousand for the home opener.

I expect a huge turnout for the EMU game especially if we both have winning records. I've been trying to book a room for the weekend, there is literally no hotel rooms open in Kalamzaoo Oct 5-6.

That will be a hype game. Better win that one.

I would expect at least 25k for a home opener vs. a P5 team. If the weather is nice, that is.

Any less than 25k would be a disappointment.
