Sure needed that rain last night.
It has been DRY in Metro Detroit this summer. The big rains have missed us, all we've gotten is a few mistings. But last night we got heavy rains starting about 1:00 am and lasting about an hour. My lawn sure needed it!

Up here it only rains on the nights-mornings (even-numbered days) our sprinkler system is on.

Or so it seems.

Haven't had to had our lawn mowed in about two weeks.

It's been very dry in Kzoo as well. There was about a 3 week stretch with zero rain and 90 degree sunny days. Killed our lawns.

All we had up until the other night in north Metro Detroit was misting/light drizzling. All the big downpours missed Troy, my lawn was in bad shape even with my watering. That rain was really needed.

I have to wonder how the Michigan sweet corn crop has been harmed?

RE: Sure needed that rain last night.
We finished July with less than a quarter of an inch of rain and since summer started, we are just below 1.5 inches. Now THAT's dry.
Got a little warm too, with a couple days over 110.
We really need a couple GOOD rains. Oddly, some parts of the world are having record rain. I think the atmosphere is less stable than it used to be or something.
