Nice article. Man, 1-9 ? Throw some darts. This is going to be a league where 12-6 might win the regular season

He obviously does not think much of Penny given the mix of returning experience/ability and the best AAC incoming recruiting class (perhaps the best combination in the AAC).

Good breakdown.

Surprised to learn that Tulsa has the 3rd highest amount of league wins since the AAC's inception. Guess that still wasn't enough to give them a shot at success this year.

The author lists Cincy as #1 (a defendable choice, IMO) and shows one Cincy player, but places Memphis #8 with two Tigers listed. Something does not compute.

Speaking of Tulsa, where is Etou? He is going to play pro somewhere?

He was a senior last season. He's playing for some Euro team. His skillset never really translated to being an NBA player in my opinion.

Putting 5 guards on the first team and leaving Daquan Jeffries either of the All AAC teams makes this list suspect in my opinion. His numbers were better than a ton of the guys on there. He had a much better PER & EFG% than Quinton Rose and much better defensive / rebounding stats. The only thing Rose did was score a tad more per 40 minutes (~1pt / 40mins) due to chucking up too many shots in that same time frame (16 shots for Rose vs 12 for Jeffries)

Y'all love them New Haven articles...

Cumberland, Davis, Adams, and Taylor seem to have First Team honors on lock-down. The final spot is up for grabs IMO. I'd probably have Cumberland as Preseason POY. Pretty much agree with the rest of the preseason honors.

And yet there is zero buzz for Daquan Jeffries as an NBA player so 02-13-banana

If we're a "year out" like it says in the article we might be in trouble. Considering we'll lose a 3yr starting PG (with little in the wings to replace him) and our most efficient scorer / best defender.

This is the year our coaches are planning on going for the bigtime. It's now or never for Haith. He's coaching for an extension / retention. I think we're going to be a lot better than people are pegging us.

You know the Memphis legion are biting their collective tongues at this. Only explanation why this thread hasn’t been blown up by them yet.

I will say he has WSU pretty high at 4 and Tulsa pretty low at 9. Not that I’m complaining or anything.

It appears his projections are based heavily on coaching and recent history, or lack thereof, of success.

2 reasons...

1) Most of us dont care what some dude in NH says.
2) Most of us realize that this conference is a mess of mediocrity this season and we are part of it.

Well, he is an AP Poll voter come basketball season. His CT colleague was also 1 of 4 voters who ranked UCF #1 in the Final College Football AP Poll.

So maybe you should care a little...

Why? Its a preseason poll. They mean jack ****. If we win we'll be rewarded. If we lose, we wont.
