Gates signs with Chargers
Antonio Gates re-signed with the Chargers today and will be a back-up tight end. This is Gates' 16th year with the Chargers.

To get some perspective on his greatness:

* Of the 2003 NFL Draft Class (of which Gates would have been a part of if he were drafted), there are only two other active players (Terrell Suggs and Terence Newman) left.

* In that class, only two players (Kevin Williams and Troy Polamanu) have been AP first team more times than Gates' three.

* Only Jason Witten has been to more pro-bowls (11) than Gates' eight.

Great perspective. The only perspective I usually give folks is that he is an absolute lock 1st ballot Hall of Famer.

Great!

Now if only he would follow through and send us that financial support he promised after holding us for ransom until we retired his number.
