Holy Mackerel that's a lot of money. I mean some MDs don't make that salary. WMU must have money falling out of their pockets to afford to pay $286,000.00 for that position.

Your's makes $253K, numbskull.

Didn't EMU lose a President recently because he was spending too much on renovating the Mansion? Unfortunately, this sort of problem is not isolated and there are many incidents of this when the public-Dollar is used. Lots of corruption.

EMU spent several hundred thousands to change its name from Hurons (which the Huron Tribe supported) to Eagles (which the tribe does not support since the Eagle has religious meaning to them), without even consulting the people it assumed were being offended. EMU has had bad luck, bad publicity, and reduced enrollment ever since.

Back to topic of thread:

As an alumnus I would like to know what process was followed-who hired Terrintine.

This looks bad for the university.

Perhaps somebody besides him should be held accountable?

As I noted above, whichever Board of Trustees Member endorsed Mr. Terrentine for this position, outside of the constraints of a national search, should RESIGN.

We Alumni should insist on it.

I DO insist on it, as a 1977 Alumni, longtime supporter, Gary Fund Member, Academic Programs Donor and Lifetime Member of the WMU Alumni Association.

Who is with me?

Everything I've heard is that it was Bill Johnston pushing Dunn to appoint Terrentine.

BroncoPhilly and broncofan1 - so is it your contention(s) that university hiring practices were not followed, and Terrentine was just "appointed"?

That is exactly how it happened.

That is also my understanding. Normal process for a high salary position like this was not followed. Somebody on the Board needs to resign, this is unacceptable.

This is an egregious violation of standard practice, not to mention a conflict of interest. This should not be swept under the rug until the responsible party on our Board terminates their relationship with WMU. Yes, it is that bad.

Agreed 100%.

Know anyone at WWMT we can prod to start asking questions?
