Mitch McConnell FINALLY finds his spine.
Election eve vote for Kavanaugh. Looks like he took a trolling lesson from Trump.
Quote:Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is threatening to tee up a November vote on Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh if Democrats do not drop their extensive request for records, according to a Friday Politico report.

RE: Mitch McConnell FINALLY finds his spine.
Ol Mitch is a mealy-mouthed, go along get along pol, but I'll give him credit where due- When it was Scalias seat to be replaced, he did what I don't think MANY others would do by sticking to his guns on that.
Not a yuge fan of the guy overall, but Gorsich replacing Antonin is a far cry from it being a Merrick Garland. Don't think a Trent Lott or Bill Frist would have had those stones. Esp when rolling the die on a complete inside straight as a Drumpf.
He'll go down as helping to reshape the Court for my kids lifetimes, likely. Hopefully for the better.
Thanks, Mitch!

Agreed 100% JMU.
And having it on the eve of the election is a stroke of trolling genius.
As Winston Wolf would say, "We couldn't have planned this any better."

If either those two had been Majority Leader at the time of Garland’s nomination, it is absolutely 100% guaranteed that he would’ve been confirmed.
It’s not possible to say with that kind of certainty what impact Garland’s confirmation might have had on the election in November. But my honest belief is that Clinton would’ve won.

There's no way to know for sure, but this scenario (scary as it is) sounds exactly right to me.
Sen. McConnell, on the whole, has been a very effective leader. I honestly think that his main shortcoming is a weak chin and slouching posture.
The poor guy simply would not look very studly sitting bear-chested on a horse, and thus cannot possibly hope to be one of the cool kids in the eyes of President Incoherent.
