Clemson, Chick-fil-a kickoff and future OOC schedules
http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/acc/clemson-tigers.php

We've got a H/H with aTm the next 2 years, but then after that, we've got 3 out of four years with Notre Dame. 2021 is the exception.

So 2021 is a likely year to play someone in a neutral site since there would be 3 years before a return trip could be made. I doubt we or a major opponent would want to play a road game with the return being that far away.

2024 - 2026 is another uneven gap that needs to be tended to because of ND scheduling. So that's probably where the rumors about a "home home" neutral series with UGA in ATL comes in.

At the very least some combination of 21, 24-26 sounds like it will be UGA for 3 games and I'm guessing the other game will be neutral. The 4th could be with UGA also, but because of the gaps its very unlikely to be 4 years home and home.

After these, the ND games leave us manageable 2-year gaps so we can get back to a normal schedule rotation with regional opponents.

So if the rumors are true and my calculations based on those rumors are true, we have one year between now and 2037 where we are likely to play a nonconference neutral site game (other than the UGA Series).

Here is what I'd like to see happen with our 1 opportunity in the next 20 years.

vs. Penn State in Indianapolis.

With a close second being vs. Ohio State in Bristol. Both fan bases can go to Gatlinburg after the game. lol

Who would you most like to see your team play at a neutral site and where?

Why Indianapolis? Seems like you could do much better in DC and poke Maryland in the eye at the same time.

That would fine. I was thinking about ribbing the Big 10 in the heart their old Midwest footprint in a state that's bookended by ACC schools.

Hate the idea of a neutral site game but because of the position the ACC put us in with their off the wall scheduling with the parasites it's understandable in this case. Will the ACC make up the lost revenue from losing a home game? Of course not. But it's the only option we have at this point.

I'm right there with you man. I much prefer the big game experience on campus and seeing the excitement from the opposite fanbase as well. luckily we only do this every once in a blue moon. I'm sure we do make up the revenue. Remember that the home game revenue would be split in half bc we get no revenue from the away game. The AD has said int e past its a branding decision rather than a financial one so we make less with no neutrals in the short term.

That being said, Playing O31o State in Bristol wouldn't get your juices going just a little? I enjoy the fact that they've never beaten Clemson and would enjoy watching that futility displayed once more in front of the largest crowd ever.

What Bristol are you talking about? The one in Tenn and VA where VT played Tenn in front of 150k people a couple of years ago? If so, I'm pretty sure that was a one time thing.

There were rumors of a future Clemson vs Tennessee game in Bristol. Thankfully, Radakovich squashed those rumors in an interview back in January.

Currently, we know that Clemson and Georgia are close to announcing a three game series that includes a home-and-home and a neutral site game. Then, Radakovich has recently admitted that he is also working with LSU to try to get a home-an-home on the future schedule.

There weren't hotels to be found all the way to Roanoke before. That was with two fanbases that had a sizable portion making it a day trip. Where would you put up that many more people that would be needing accommodations due to travel distance?

RE: Clemson, Chick-fil-a kickoff and future OOC schedules
Ohio State has never been very big on neutral site games, preferring home and home. We have one this year with TCU (first one I remember ever playing), but it was supposed to be a home and home that got shortened. That might be the start of a trend, but given no change in the athletic department and no announced ones over next several years, my guess is that home and home is still the athletic department preference.

Well 2025 and 2026 are locked up with LSU now. That leaves 2021, 2024 with Notre Dame in the middle and 2029 and 2030 to round out the decade

Our AD said he wanted to get the decade of the 20's done pretty quickly. UGa is open from 2021 to 2024 until they play UCLA in 25 and 26, but my guess is we will now see 1 neutral site game with them in Atlanta and one with someone else (or maybe one in Atl and one in Charlotte both with UGA) because 2021 needs to be a home game for us and UGA not to mention getting a school to wait that long for a return trip. If we can somehow work out a home and home with a P5 for those years then it probably won't be with UGA.

RE: Clemson, Chick-fil-a kickoff and future OOC schedules
Outside of one-offs/neutral site games and Notre Dame the ACC has the following series scheduled:

BC - Kansas, Purdue, Mizzou, Michigan State, Ohio State, Stanford and Rutgers
CU - SC, LSU, TAMU
Duke - NW, Illinois, TCU, Kansas
FSU - Florida
GT - Georgia, Ole Miss, Colorado
Louisville - Kentucky, Indiana, Ole Miss
Miami - Michigan State, TAMU
UNC - Cal, TCU, Minnesotta
NCSU - West Virginia, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, BYU, Vandy
Pitt - PSU, Tennessee, West Virginia, Wisky
Syracuse - MD, Rutgers
UVa - Indiana, Illinois, BYU, Maryland
VT - Penn State, MD, Rutgers, WVa, BYU, Arizona
WF - Vandy, Ole Miss, Purdue

I've bolded the few series where I think the ACC team is overmatched on paper. BC and to a lesser degree Pitt are attempting to punch above their weight, much like UVa did for the last decade. PSU they have to schedule. Like I said this does not include the one-offs at neutral sites where several schools have scheduled an ass-whippin' at the hands of Bama.

Duke-Bama (ATL)
Louisville-Bama (ATL)
Miami - Bama (ATL)
FSU-WVa (ATL)
Louis-Ole Miss (ATL)
UNC-Auburn (ATL)
UVa-Georgia (ATL)
UNC-SC (Charlotte)
Miami-UF (Orlando)

The OOC game that NC State fans really miss is Penn State, but with PSU needing to play Pitt and West Virginia on a semi-regular basis, there is no way to shoe horn in a series over fellow conference mates UVa, and VT. Maryland would have been a natural OOC if the divorce were not so acrimonious and the history with MD and Yow prior to that.
