I would condemn any Republican who did this to Democratic donors. I guess that means my standards are different from Lad’s. Hmmm. Two standards. How novel.
More interesting to me is that not one - no person at all - has stepped forward to condemn protesters calling for the death or injury of McConnell. I bet if a right winger called for the death of a Democrat - or even to just send her back - the outcry against that would be enormous. Must be another case of two standards.
Frankly, a bit surprised Lad would talk himself into this corner. A.E., I could readily believe.
No you wouldn’t.

Guess I need Lad to tell me what I think. That is the proper role for liberals, correcting the thoughts of deplorable.
Lad still cannot bring himself to condemn the calling for a man’s death, any more than he can be concerned for the safety of the people the Castros exposed.
What is it about libs that makes them feel no shame?

Has anyone stepped up about this?

There are crazies on both sides, and expecting either side to always condemn the other is fruitless. When it is people in senior positions or elected officials talking about wanting to physically harm Senators or Congressmen, then you’ve got a point. At that point we’ve reached a point where your words carry weight.
It’s why the Castro tweet is problematic - not because he made public names public (he didn’t dox anyone as suggested) - but because, like Trump has done, he used a position of power to try and bully and draw attention to people of a much lower stature. While I have no problem with someone publicizing public information, and I think we should continue to make political campaign, the issue with Castro is that he used his status to draw oversized and unfair attention to these local donors.

Took a while, but we teased it out of you.
The guy in Ohio should be arrested. The people on McConnell’s lawn, however, are free to go. They’re Democrats.

RE: Democratic Presidential Horse Race thread
Here is the real interesting and funny thing:
In the realm of abortion the progressives fight to the last breath (and last fetal twitch) over the arching and important 'right to privacy' inherent in that issue. Preserving that 'right to privacy' is a fundamental chant in defense of the Constitutional basis of abortion.
But, when it comes to the realm of the 1st Amendment, those same progressives are more eager to take a big fat fing crap on that same principle of a 'right to privacy' when it pertains to the 'righteousness' of making sure that the ability to 'out' donors with whom they disagree with is preserved.
Just. Absolutely. Amazing.

I made a point of eating at Bill Miller BBQ today.
There is much, much better BBQ here in town. But it was extraordinarily satisfying in the 'shooting the middle finger' at Castro's thuggish actions type way.
I will make sure I eat there next week as well.

I guess I'm the same way. I've always wanted to go to the Redneck Country Club in Stafford, but after Ted Cruz used it as his campaign headquarters after the 2016 Texas primary, I just don't have the stomach to go anymore.

As opposed to Castro's intentions, the line to Bill Miller BBQ was to the door. I mentioned to the manager my reason for eating there and he said sales had picked up noticeably even in Austin. He showed me a pic from San Antonio where the line was out the door.
Do you think that was Pipsqueak Castro's intention? What do you think of the attempt by an elected official at excoriation of a private citizen for a donation? Copacetic with that?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. And right now, every democrat presidential candidate is my enemy.
To clarify, anyone who favors gun registration or single-payer health care or massive redistribution of income and wealth is my enemy.

They do make decent fried chicken and breakfast tacos.

Bueller? Bueller?
Haven’t followed the news closely enough - Pelosi said that her number one job was making Trump a one-term President?

Yep, pretty much. She has said many times that the objective is to beat him in 2020.

Mitch’s comment that OO references wasnt about beating Obama in 2012, but blocking his legislative agenda and not working with him. Pelosi’s comment you reference has a completely different context.
No one criticized Mitch because he said he wanted a Republican to beat Obama in 2012.

You've never heard of The Resistance? How isolated you must be as you go about the task of making the world more vulnerable to fossil fuels.
In any case, it is the same. How liberal to claim they are different, that making Trump a one term President is OK but trying to make Obama one was reprehensible. Double standard, once more.

Again, it wasn’t the fact that McConnell advocates for Obama to lose in 2012, it’s that he basically said that he wouldn’t work with the president and his number one priority, as Senate majority leader, was to make Obama a one-term President, instead of, you know, governing.
And you’re current obsession with trying to point out double standards is really rich given that Trump’s takeover of the Republican Party has created numerous instances of hypocrisy from conservatives. Your group is no less guilty.
