RE: Tribe Tavern - Beer Garden
Richmond's fans need beer at their games much more than us. How else can you survive Mooney.

I recall going to a sold out Richmond/Syracuse NIT game at the Robins Center many years ago. I don't think I'm mistaken, but since at that time the NIT was independent of the NCAA, they sold beer at the game. It was the loudest, most raucous crowd I've ever experienced there. Felt like I was at an old Celtics/Knicks game. Don't think Tribe Tavern will ever have that effect at Zable, but I imagine Kaplan would feel the decibels hit another level, if we opened the basketball experience up to that.

Long overdue

Samantha is working hard to help change the game day experience for fans and players alike. She can’t change the play calling or W/L for this year But it’s a start. I am sure the beer garden will be in Kaplan for an exciting basketball season. Whether you enjoy a beverage or not Let’s support the tavern for what it is ...a change and an idea to help get fans to the game and stay at the game...2 more games left for to enjoy a beverage from a different viewpoint ground level ! Go tribe

Got an email for a flash sale on entry - $15
-Each pass allows you to buy 3 beers.
-Can buy up to 4 passes.
-Someone previously said beers are "$6" once inside the tent

I guess they are tinkering with price to see what it brings.

15 + (6x3) / 3 beers is $11 per. Not bad actually.

Edit: Ive been in NYC too long...my dismissal of price is based on that reality.

Apparently, there are quite a few breweries owned or part-owned by WM alums.
This is from the WM Alumni facebook page and was a part of a homecoming fundraiser.

Brewmaster 101 must have become a popular course after I graduated. I earned enough credit hours for a second major during my years, but unfortunately, the College of Knowledge wasn't offering that degree yet.

Beer at VCU home games:

https://www.richmond.com/sports/college/...3c4da.html

Went to an opera this weekend at University of Illinois. Had the option of purchasing wine, beer, or hard liquor at that college event on that college campus.

Beer at College Basketball will 100% significantly increase the attendance by the locals. I dont know how many minor league sporting events Ive been to that I knew nothing about the team...but simply went to have a few beers with friends and didnt want to just go to a bar.

Got an email regarding Tribe Tavern upgrades.

IMPORTANTLY: Free entry to it at the Lafayette game if youre a season ticket holder (check your email for ticket). A great idea!

New:
-TVs showing the game behind you if youre in line
-"food"
-"better atmosphere"

Cant sell the entry ticket, but if youre not planning to enter the tent, might be able to give it away?

My friend says a 4 beer limit (16 oz.) at games. At concessions, and then can take back to your seat.
