So far Grand Canyon, Seattle U, UM Kansas City, Utah Valley and now New Mexico State have updated the 2018-19 basketball roster. The others programs are still lagging. I suspect we won't know Chicago State's full roster until the fall basketball practice starts and they have announced a new basketball coach.

New Mexico State is loaded from top to bottom. Looks like another WAC Championship run.

You think just a WAC Championship is all this squad is capable of? Man I think they will beat Duke and Kansas on their way to beating Villanova in the NCAA Championship game.

NMSU obviously can't replace Zach Lofton and Jemerrio Jones one-for-one with our new recruits. But this 2018-19 team is a much deeper squad from top to bottom. I don't expect the gaudy individual scoring and rebounding numbers of a year ago. But I do expect NMSU to have a much more balanced offensive attack and an overall better defense.

I noticed there are 16 players listed. Only 15 are allowed, right? Is someone on the list sitting out the year?

There is no limit to the amount of players listed on a roster as long as no more than 13 of them are on athletic scholarship (the maximum allowable per NCAA requirements).

NMSU has 16 players on its' roster. However, Keyon Jones and Terrell Brown are classified as walk-ons. Also, it is likely William McNair is paying his own way as a redshirt freshman. That would put NMSU at 13 scholarship athlete.
