I agree. My guess is the starter after Green will probably be in the recruiting class of 20 or even 21. And now that a player can play 4 games without losing a red shirt it means you can actually find out just how much potential someone has without burning a redshirt.

Here's an update including Rice's Bycznski and UTEP's Goodwin. Six of these guys are 6-4 or more. This is truly a reflection of how the game has changed in recent years, all the way down to the high school level.

Anyone care to venture which of these guys will (1) take their team to a C-USA championship and/or (2) wind up in the NFL?

There is a lot of If's for the next few years in regards to Hayden. He has great size and seems to have natural talent. I hope that he will be a strong option for ODU and he may be the future face of Monarch Football.

The complication arises in regards to Stevie Williams. He is now a Sophomore and next year when Hayden arrives Stevie will only be a Junior. I think it will be great competition between the two of them and I think it will motivate and push them both. No way can any of us see into the future with our crystal ball and predict what will happen. But, I'm only speculating that Hayden may Red Shirt he's 1st year on Campus, (assuming Williams continues to improve and wakes up when the alarm clock goes off).

If Williams becomes stagnate his Senior year. The selection for starting QB may be in question. Who will be the starter for 2020? Wilder may in fact have a new Starting QB or Williams is the man. If Williams has developed into an All Conference selection by his Sr year. Not saying that will happen, however stranger things have happen in football. If Williams continues to excel than my hope is we have a Top notch starting QB and an outstanding back up in Sophomore QB "Hayden". The unfortunate reality of football is injuries. "If" Williams were to get injured, Hayden could step in and not miss a beat. My wish is always that Wilder will select the one that gives us the best chance to win.

Speculating as to who that maybe is imposable. We could even have a 3rd QB in the mix by than. My overall wish and desire is that we not loss a QB because they feel they should be getting more playing time. That is always an issue that has to be handle properly, and I feel Wilder will make the right decision's and I trust he will do just that.

A few interesting tidbits on Kuehne:

He's the grandson of a big UNT donor, Ernie Kuehne, and is originally from Argyle(about 15 minutes from Denton). He just won the 6A State title in Oklahoma after transferring to Owasso , and was named the 6A Offensive Player of the Year. We've had a little success with a particular former Oklahoma player of the year, so here's hoping he can follow in those footsteps.

We have a damn good QB room though(the best I've ever seen as a fan), so it'll be an uphill battle for sure.

Looks like 247 has updated some of the unrated kids. Jarrett Guest (USM commit) is now rated 0.7798

Well Green got the start for Marshall at the beginning of the season.

And now Marshall fans may have to start holding their breath on Maurice Underwood. I have a feeling he will be looked at hard by some bigger programs. He absolutely tore #4 Nationally ranked St Thomas Aquinas a new one this evening. STAHS had only give up 6 points through their 1st 4 games, tonight Maurice Underwood guided the Miami Central Rockets to a 43-27 win. Underwood accounted for 5 of the TDs, 4 rushing and 1 70 yard TD pass.

The one thing that could keep Underwood as a hard commit and even sign in December is that Rakeem Cato is his QB Coach.

That’s awesome news! I don’t think we end up with this Underwood kid considering how well our current Freshman QB Green is playing so far. But I am happy to hear Cato has landed on his feet somewhat.

He reminded me of Keon Howard in the video.

Underwood would be a 2019 commit. Truthfully I wasn't to high on the kid until I seen what he could do last night. Before transferring to Miami Central he went to Booker T Washington HS and to be honest his win total wasn't that good. Hopefully he still comes because Cato is in his ear. We could have the next 6-7 years set at QB with Green and Underwood. We could have ourselves a new version of Pennington/Leftwich situation.

Another thing that could keep a few bigger programs away is the kid is only 170 pounds. That was the knock on Cato that he was only 6'1 and 165 in HS. The thing is Underwood is taller than Cato at 6'3.
