So I travelled to Orlando despite the cries from my girlfriend that its going to take 5 hours to get there and there won't be any gas. Nevertheless she let me go, she wouldn't have enjoyed it anyways, she's a FAU grad/fan, she might drag me soon to her crappy stadium to see a team that could soon possibly jump us if they still keep improving and do build that on-campus stadium. Well I met up with my friend and we headed to the ghetto. We were ripping on 'Worst ******' and cathing up on stuff. Upon entering and parking, Im reminded why we desperately need to build that on-campus stadium. We need to get the team out of there and bring them back to the campus, back to the students. Yes we might not be able to buy alcohol at the stadium but get over it, buy a flask and fill it with some liqour and sneak it in. Tradition can be built stronger and the crowds can become more rowdier, not only that but we might be able to recruit better.

To the game. What game? Oh yea the whipping that we got. Defense where was it? Offense where are you? There were a few bright moments but overall we still need major improvements on both sides of the ball. Alex Haynes did a good job on moving the ball, improving on his numbers. And it was nice to see the first touchdown of the season from Sumner to Capers. Something I see further intensifying is a quarterback controversy between Sumner, Moffett, and Israel. I have a feeling that we might have a true freshman starting next week at Penn State with Kyle Israel.

Looks like the next time I will be able to go to a game wil be against NIU in October. That time I most likely will be going solo unless my GF decides to go - probably not. If plans don't change, look for a guy with a 'NCAABBS.COM' sign who will be trying to plug this site - maybe also looking for a few posters. 03-wink

Major understatement! Alex Haynes played like a man possessed against WVU. I've never seen him hit holes as hard as he did Saturday. Kudos to the offensive line, too, for an excellent job of run-blocking.

EDIT - Speaking of the offensive line, they also deserve a lot of credit for allowing only one sack against WVU. Israel was sacked with about 5 minutes to play in the 4th quarter. The o-line is young, but they did a fantastic job on Saturday.

George O'Leary has made it no secret that he likes Israel. Israel made a couple of mistakes, but his poise overall was more like that of a senior than a true freshman. I suspect that it will be either Sumner or Moffett starting against Penn State, though, simply because they have a little more experience.

Rich Rod has a reputation for running up the score. I am glad MU does not do this. They hung 80 I think on Rutgers a couple years ago and kept the starters in against ECU this year. Know wonder they are hated so much.

I agree with you, Haynes was spectacular, he is our main offensive weapon. And our O-line was impressive and strong. Our passing game needs a lot of work though. I think well be improving by each and every game. Hopefully well be able to keep it close this week with PSU, or better yet, pull off the upset.

I think will be close with penn state, as long as we don't have TURNOVERS and very few penalties. I don't think Penn will have 5 turnovers like they did against BC. But that would be awesome. I've been real impressed with the people O'Leary recruited. They my not be rated that high, but they can play...just look at Israel and the O-Line.
