MyBB Grizzlies 2018 NBA Draft - did our FO actually make 2 solid choices
I know, I know ... summer league.

BUT - I've been watching both JJJ and JV and honestly, they are and have been amazing. They both got the work ethic to succeed in this league. I've been really impressed with both and JV looks like an absolute steal. He is definitely a lock-down defender but he has been showing some offensive game as well.

Also, just noticed the staff that J.B. has put together - all former nba'ers ... they even talked about it on ESPN during yesterday's matchup against the Jazz ...

Def going to be interesting to see these youngn's take over.

And they hit on Dillon Brooks last year. Could we actually be getting good at drafting?

Dillon got drafted by the Rockets tho ... and traded to the Grizz. So, essentially, we sorta did 'draft' him?

But yea, I expect Dillon to do great in his sophomore year. He played in all 82 games last season, starting 74.

Yeah the Grizzlies most likely told them to draft Brooks for them

All three share a common trait - a high motor.

Yea, Kyle Anderson is a perfect fit for the Grizz as well. Definitely going to be fun watching them next season - with a healthy MC returning. We're going to have 1 extra player on the roster right now, so we're going to have to waive someone ... wonder who its going to be.

BTW - JC just signed his multi-year contract today, so that's good news.

Summer league has improved. Time to retire the trope that summer league can't offer any insight which players are good, only which ones are bad.

I think he will experience a bit of a slump, but will still surpass his pick position. Cautiously hopeful this season in a murderous WC.

I know Wade Baldwin is eager to make a point tonight playing for Portland against our Grizzlies (ESPN2@830pm) in the semifinal game. The announcers last night, especially Chauncey Billups, just gushed about DJ Stephens. Hopefully Markel Crawford is at least earning a tryout with the Memphis Hustle. If you're a 'Memphis' hoops fan, tonight's game should be good viewing.

It has improved, but the fact remains it's mostly a collection of non-roster invitees sprinkled in with Gleague/two way guys with three or so actual signed draft picks.

Philly, for example, only had Zhaire Smith and Furkan Korkmaz on that team who likely fit into the Sixers long term plans. The rest of those dudes are like the DJ Stephens, Dee Bost, and Markel--either EURO guys hoping for a look or undrafted guys looking for a G League spot.

Markel has proven he can earn a living playing basketball, at least for a couple years. That is pretty awesome to watch develop.
