a team that went 7-6 last year and didnt have a top 25 recruiting class this year. Yep thats top 25 material...

As much as I hate to say it, BC should be good this year. Not top25 good, but good. I don't see Temple winning at BC this year.

i agree, they should win 7-8 games, but that doesn't warrant a top 25 ranking by any mean

If Alabama joined the AAC tomorrow they'd be ranked 23rd.

Addazio has improved BC every year he’s been there. They were bad when he started. Temple plays there game 5 so we should know what we have by then and will have already beaten MD. Of course BC will also be playing there 5th game. I’m predicting a close upset win for the Owls.

13-0, returning the key QB, a ton of offensive guys, and enough defensive guys with an upgrade at DC and we go unranked preseason. Seems legit.

If Alabama joined the AAC the lowest ranked team they would play would be 2-8 #23 Tulane.

Alabama plays Arkansas St in week two, hence Arkansas States mysterious top 25 ranking. Arkansas State 8s at Tulsa the following week after Bama plays them. They'll be a dangerous, early season challenge for the Tide and hurt Tulsa's ooc record because they're Arkansas State. Like several sec teams last year they will only be top 25 before they play Alabama.

I hope like crazy Tulsa beats Texas, if y’all do I’ll personally come and drink soon cold beers in the great gazebo
Just say’n

I will be the waiter serving the drinks for free. I live close to Houston and that would make me happy to listen to all the disappointed UT fans.

Tulsa should also beat Arkansas State. It's at Tulsa.

Yep. Playing Troy at home should be difficult, at least.

the cfp committee made a 9-3 Fresno state team #25 just so they could sneek bama into the playoff

Im a fan of Phil Steel---but I think he could be whiffing badly on some of these picks. Good bulletin board material for the AAC teams.

It's probably more to ensure that if an AAC team goes undefeated again, they would have no way to work their way up to the Top 4. That's been the model.

Even if UCF goes undefeated again they will not make the playoffs. That is the point of ranking them out of the top 25 preseason polls. The P5 cartel is impenetrable now more than ever.

RE: Phil Steel's preseason Top 25
When was the last time an AAC or Big East football season ended without at least one team finishing in the top 25? Maybe the year UCONN went to the BCS with 4 losses. Other than that I can't remember. How many times has it happened? I suspect the numbers are at zero for both, unless my memory is that bad. That said, what is the possibility that it happens this year? Probably zero, where at least one team will be ranked.

They are just making themselves look more and more pathetic with their obvious bias. For UCF to have that many starters returning and not be ranked is just criminal.

Wow! Steele's snarky remarks about UCF kinda make me think that there actually is some type of bias against them and maybe the entire conference for refusing to "stay in our place ". It almost feel as though everyone is doing their best to oversell Boise and to undermine the AAC in the preseason to create the all g5s are the same narrative along with the AAC success is a fluke theme.03-banghead03-banghead

Anyone have Phil's 2017 magazine to check predictions and projected bowls against reality?
