I hope they are able to put some amount of suites on both sides unlike the renderings.

--Congratulations on the progress!!

Stadium is planned to be done by summer 2021 and the arena renovations done by early 2022.

Great news. That's going to help you guys a lot. Legion Field is in it's final days.

My coworker went to Alabama in the 90s and said it was a rust bucket then. Congrats UAB fans. You deserve it.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your point...why is playing regional schools a sad reality? Obviously scheduling regional P5s > G5s > FCS but what's wrong with scheduling to sell tickets?

Conference alignment being what it is for the forseable future, why not prioritize regionalism in OOC scheduling? Again, under the model P5>G5>FCS. App State has done this. We've used creative models to get UNC, USC, and Wake to schedule in Boone. We've scheduled ODU, Marshall, and UNCC to come to Boone. We've filled the remaining holes with ex-SOCON rivals ETSU and Elon. It's not the perfect model but it's worked.

I'm a big advocate of regional scheduling /realignment. I don't know why I used the word 'sad,' other than to try to describe the current state of college athletics. "Sickening" may be a more appropriate adjective to describe it.

And we had good attendance against ULL because it was a guaranteed W

You guys belong in the same conference. It's a perfect rivalry. You already hate one another. Play every year!

Right. Thanks so much for making that clear. That should be a conference game.

So what you're saying Tech should move to the SBC? Along those same lines Rice should go ahead and drop down to FCS since you enjoy the fans Prairie View A&M brings to the game.

But I thought a few post earlier you said CUSA was a good move for Tech when they had a chance to join ULL in a conference. Did I misread your post? You can't seem to make up your mind.

This is so stupid. You know exactly what I've said all along. Go and reread the bottom of post #42. Against that backdrop, it's easy to see how LTU would benefit from playing in-state rival ULL every season as opposed to any CUSA East member. There isn't enough income now to keep a gigantic G5 conference like CUSA, at least not in its current form.

Good grief man, we've played UL-Laugh in football 87 times. Just how many more times do we need play them? Perhaps you should go post on the Sunbelt board, they'd love you there.

Again there is no reason Tech and ULL cant play. If Tech wanted to be in the same conference as ULL, they would be in the SBC. You seem to think you know what is best for everyone.

I've posted years and years of attendance records and other than a in state school this regional conference you want everyone to join....

doesn't show much if any improvement in attendance when it comes to western vs eastern schools

Why dont you just drop this silly **** and say I made a mistake by talking out of my ass instead of just looking at the actual reported attendance? Maybe you should be saying this to the Rice President and AD...tell them Rice would benefit by playing in a regional conference. To do that Rice needs to drop down because the Big 12 is not going to come offering.

So one thing we know for sure...unless the visiting team brings most of the fans attendance at a Rice football game is not going to matter. It wont be enough to pay for the people working game game at the stadium

None of this even matters. Don't take it so seriously. Some agree and some don't. On to other things...
