The time you can maybe catch a P5 is when they are coming off a tough game and have another tough game coming up right afterward.

P5's don't have a problem focusing in their first game (which is what makes Apps win over Michigan stunning, even to this day.)

Penn State will be hard to beat in Happy Valley, but Apple State is capable of giving them a scare. I would not be totally shocked to see an upset.
That will be tough

How much has PSU lost other than Barkley? I'm not that familiar with what they had, he basically dominated any conversation from them.

App will go as far as their QB play. It's hard to lose a guy as experienced as Lamb without taking a step or 2 back at least early. Not sure what their OL situation is this year, but it definitely wasn't a strong point the majority of last season.

Nevermind the fact that they've struggled with FCS teams, if you're playing one you don't want it to be a playoff contender that you're up against. You definitely don't want it to be a playoff contender that runs our old offense.

Brian Bohannon and Grant Chestnut (both from GS backgrounds) are very good at running the offense they run. It's nothing like what Gast has played before from us. Elliott also lost to Citadel who ran a similar scheme while interim HC at SCar.

They have nothing to be intimidated about in Gast's stadium and will give them their best shot. The question is who takes a knockdown blow first?

Not to mention they are playing a top level FCS School that is based near the Atlanta area, so they'll bring a very healthy contingent of fans.

We’re so screwed.

I just don't know if I trust GSU fans yet to show up in healthy numbers and make that place difficult for opponents.
Gonna try and keep going today without your approval. LOL

You really embody the whole "speak and remove all doubt" mentality huh?

Their o-line was second in the country in sacks allowed...

Not uncommon with an offense that relies so heavily on running the ball (just look at where we ranked in 2014/2015).

I did see them struggling at times and having to rely on Lamb's passing to keep drives alive.

They did better toward the end of the year, but it was not the same as the previous couple of years. The question is will they have a guy that can come in and manage the game like Lamb did even if the OL struggles early?

You bet your eagle ass they will! I think that people will become very familiar with Zac Thomas. Just remember that Jalin Moore will be back to relieve some of the pressure and we have our strongest receiver group since moving up. Taylor had that it factor and Zac is another son of a coach and appears to have "it" as well.

I just realized that the last time App went up against a Brent Pry defense they didn't fair so well.

That Penn State game should definitely be interesting.
