Summer Baseball Thread
Thought I'd start a thread on how our guys are doing in Summer Ball.

Brandon Comeaux continues to tear it up in pitcher-friendly, wood bat Cape Cod League in front of the scouting community...

Braden Comeaux (@RiceBaseball) had 2 hits, walked, scored a run, drove in 3 for @harborhawks yesterday. Comeaux has hit in 8 straight games, has 2 hits in 5 of those games in which he is batting .406, and has raised his avg. to .338.

According to his dad, Matt Canterino has been named starting pitcher for the West in next Sunday's (7/22) Cape Cod League All-star game...

Brandon Comeaux made the West squad and, I assume, will be starting at 3B.. Garrett Gayle just missed the cut...

Nice article today on Braden Comeaux in the Hyannis (Cape Cod) press...

https://hyannisharborhawks.wordpress.com...ny-colors/

...hadn't realized TCU screwed Comeaux over (threatening to take away his scholarship if he didn't recover from his back injury in time for the start of his Freshman season) just as they did Cade Edwards. We're lucky to have them both!

Addison Moss just joined the Cotuit squad in the Cape for the second half of the Summer season...

. @CotuitKettleers have added @RiceBaseball RHP Addison Moss to their roster. Moss appeared in 15 games, made 11 starts, and lead the Owls with a 2.43 ERA this spring. He struck out 53, walked just 16 over 63 innings, and had a .251 OBA.

...good for him, as it means the soreness in his arm has finally healed after resting it for the past 7- 8 weeks. I think Addison has a legit chance of being no worse than a Top 7 - 9 round pick if he can remain healthy and build off his 2018 season.

Canterino got the win for the West team as they scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and ended up winning 4-3. Comeaux went 0-2 with a K in his 2nd at-bat.

D1Baseball's scout in the Cape responded to my question on Matt Canterino after he was not mentioned in his writeup of the Cape Cod all-star game...

No mention of Matt Canterino, who also had a 1-2-3 inning with 2 Ks?

Canterino 90-93 mph with an average 2200 spin rate. CB 77, SL 81, CH 82-84. Very impressive one inning, showing four pitches for strikes.

Here's a nice writeup on Canterino's Summer-ending outing (6.2 IP, 5 runs, 4 earned, 9 Ks)....

https://commodoresblog.wordpress.com/201...-finishes/

...his father told me earlier in the day he was going to shut down for the Summer after this appearance. Gives him 4 weeks to relax and enjoy life before returning to campus, and starting his bullpens in front of the new coaching staff.
