— Some immigrant U.S. Army reservists and recruits who enlisted in the military with a promised path to citizenship are being abruptly discharged, the Associated Press has learned.

The AP was unable to quantify how many men and women who enlisted through the special recruitment program have been booted from the Army, but immigration attorneys say they know of more than 40 who have been discharged or whose status has become questionable, jeopardizing their futures.

This is disgusting. Where is the outrage? This is the very face of racism and it’s sickening. America can no longer keep her word in the Age of Trump? Just because he is a lying sack of **** he has to make our military too?

I agree people do **** up but in these times of splitting up families at the border I can not give them any benefit of the doubt. They are stone walking any investigation on the number of recruits who have been booted. A whistle blower will come through. The Army itself is not racist. We just have a commander in chief that either is getting some very poor counseling (Miller) or approves of it.

No other word for this but horrible.

Actually ive read quite a bit about it. They are discharging people with incomplete documentation. You are just screaming at the sky so I provided you with company.

Last I heard over 800 enlisted, 40 is 5% of that, so until I see reasons, I don’t buy this lame article, but, nice try Mach.

That isn't true at all. People that migrate to our country legally are fine. You want to say legal and illegal are the same, when in fact they are not. Illegal migrants have broken our law. That is a problem.

I don't know the specifics of these recruits, and will reserve my judgement until I've heard more of the story.

I know liberals believe the world is collapsing, but it isn't. The current administration is just undoing many of the radical policies Obama enacted and setting the nation back on course.

Who promised them this? Certainly not Trump. Enlistments under Trump would not be ending yet, seeing that he hasn't been in office a full 2 years. They were promised by Obama. Look I understand, Obama promised a lot of things. Heck he promised that I could keep my Doctor and healthcare plan. And we know where that one went.

Like others have said, we have a story about 40 discharged out of 5000 recruited in 2016 and 10000 currently serving. This doesn't sound like some sinister plan to eliminate a path to citizenship for legal immigrants. With no other information we have to take it at face value

Link says 5,000 in 2016 signed up and 10,000 total currently serve.

Based on the article Mach posted it would seem something is off.

As much as I love this country some of the people who work in it must wear Velcro shoes because tying the laces is too hard.

I'm willing to bet some of the instances are mistakes, some maybe that the paper work is not in order, and others could be they violated a rule that could have them discharged. Could be some heard of the program signed up to join the army and never did anything to enroll into the program. That would be my guess.

We'll have to wait and see how it shakes out.
