Whats the deal with Chandlers quick fall, did he have a poor summer?

And who is #82 Damion Baugh...Haven't seen him discussed and he is listed as being in Memphis.

RE: New Rivals 2019 Top 150
I honestly don't know about the drop (actually Rivals Eric Bossi on J&J now) other than being a 4 star top 80 player in the country is nothing to sneeze at regarding Lawson. I really think in most cases, you have the top 10-15 5 star types and then everyone else in the top 150 has just as good a chance to have an impact in college, particularly if the fit is right.

And I am not familiar with Baugh......here's his 247 profile, where his Composite rank will definitely go up considering his new Rivals ranking...

A point guard with length and played HS ball with Dude Collum at TN Prep Academy last year. I like his game.

Really not a quick fall, imo. He and DJ have been consistently dropping for 2 years. At one time, they were both in the top 10. DJ seems to have stabilized around 50. I think Chandler was #72 or #73 last time, now apparently at #86.

Re Baugh, the Rivals guys wrote this about him about a month ago after the May tourneys. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/...ng-session

"Why he's on the rise: Baugh is a point guard with great size, a nice feel for the game and he’s one of the top perimeter defenders in the country. He’s quickly become a target of high-major programs and he’s played to that level.

Who is involved? Baugh has become a major target in the Southeast with Miami, TCU, Florida, USF, LSU, Ole Miss and Georgia all offering in the last month."

Wasn't Chandler Lawson supposed to be the best of the bunch and a sure fire one-and-done/lottery pick?

Not for me. Chandler is good player, but not near a one-and-done. He was tall very young, so that probably helped him be overrated a bit initially. And, or course, being on Penny's team he got a lot of exposure early.

If people listen to Gary Parrish for their recruiting info., and 92.9 to keep stirring Lawson controversy, then they are going to be out of the loop a lot.

Johnathan is a sophomore to be, and he is highly rated. Time will tell if he also drops down the ratings as time goes on.

It was Jonathon that they said was going to be the best... when he was in 7th grade. If you've seen all of them play, it's clear that Dedric is and will be the best of the family. Not a knock on the other brothers, he's just far and away much better.

Well, we saw 2 of them up close for 2 years. Good college players, not stars. Sounds like the younger ones are similar. I guess watching Kansas this coming season will say a lot about all the Lawson cr@p we've had to deal with.

In one of Keelon's ramblings he mentioned that Chandler needs some physical maturing. He said that prep school was not out of question.

Dedric will likely produce at a high level for Kansas this year.

And it is possible that KJ will do well as well...Heck this will be KJ's fourth year in college (Essentially a senior) but he still has this year plus 2 more to play. If he can't produce with having such a maturity advantage it would speak volumes.

At least Dedric is back with his high school class since he left HS early.

Just saw KJ's picture on the Kansas site.

Explains the so called "bird fingers" towards Tubby.

He was showing him how to spin basketballs on his fingertips.

Sans basketballs.

KJ only has this year and next guaranteed. As you said, they will be his fourth and fifth years in college. He would have to apply for a sixth year. Frankly, I don't see much grounds for getting a sixth year. Those are typically only given for injuries that use up multiple years of eligibility, or unusual circumstances.

I agree Dedric will probably have a good year. I don't buy the B12 POY talk, but he could be first team all conference. I don't think KJ will even start for KU. But I could be wrong. On their play - not on the eligibility.
