I'll apply that to realignment. Find something that might work by moving as few P5 schools as possible (where none of them are hurt financially).
One way is to move only three schools. Move Clemson and Kansas to the SEC, and replace Clemson with West Virginia.
Kansas goes to the SEC West (along with Missouri) and Clemson to the SEC East (along with Auburn).
West Virginia goes to the ACC North, joining Virginia Tech, Louisville, Pitt, BC, Syracuse and NC State.
Both the SEC and ACC stick with 8 game league schedules, leaving plenty of room for compelling interleague games against each other and the Big 12.
I can name that tune in two notes:
Move Kentucky and Vandy to the ACC, then the SEC is open for Texas, Kansas, OU, and TT.
Even though I'm moving in the wrong direction, I actually would prefer to add a fourth school. Move both Kansas and Missouri to the B1G West, Clemson to the SEC East, and West Virginia to the ACC North. No rivalries would be harmed by the filming of this show.

Now you're thinking... but no thanks on that pair. Make it South Carolina and Auburn and you have a deal! (OK, the ACC would also go for SC and Vandy, tbh).
Either would be fine, although the Vandy/South Carolina could give the SEC: Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and West Virginia.
I thought he said they were taking Texas Tech!?!? In that case, the only acceptable option for the ACC is S Carolina and W Virginia...
South Carolina in conjunction with West Virginia would be an acceptable pair. It keeps the ACC and all ETZ conference and frees up that extra space in the west for the SEC.
West Virginia will have no ties and South Carolina (not an original SEC member) would have less angst about leaving the SEC that would Kentucky or Vanderbilt (even though it would be a smart move for the 'Dores).

What's wrong with the Central Time Zone? Part of Florida, Kentucky, and Indiana are in the Central Time Zone.
Also, West Virginia is not getting an ACC invite as long as Duke, UVa, GT, and WF have a say so and they do and they can easily cajole 3 more blackballs. Something would have to be done to address their in-State admissions policies which of course is a slap in their face and goes against their mission.
Also trading SC for Clemson is like trading Kate Upton for Upton Sinclair. Not much of a deal.

No deal on giving up Clemson; I thought we were ONLY talking about adding SC and WVU so that the SEC could then add Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
Still, when you toss in WVU that's only 4 Big XII teams... need 4 more to dissolve the conference, so...
SEC also adds Oklahoma State and Texas Tech
ACC then finishes the job by adding Iowa State and TCU.
(Baylor and Kansas State go homeless).

You won't have to dissolve the conference by 2023. But truly until the revenue is equalized no such move such as the one suggested with South Carolina would even be remotely possible and then they would have to want such a move before it could happen.
Seriously I think the SEC will just add two. But if OU and Texas both insisted on a second state school apiece it could get interesting. But it if it ever came to that it wouldn't involve the ACC at all.
