Jake Lieberman tweets:

“ Incoming senior, Tyrese Hughley (@iamtyresehughey) tells me that he recently completed virtual visits with #Furman, Cleveland State, #Toledo, and William & Mary. Also, Virginia Tech is starting to show interest.“

Coach Boatner and Tyler Rice’s mother are now following each other on Twitter. Coach Boatner also liked a tweet from Rice’s father about Tyler catching a largemouth bass (too bad Loewe won’t be around next year!) while visiting a family friend, the same friend who followed the WMTribeMBB account recently.

Of Elon’s 41 (!) offers, seven overlap with WM’s 15 offers: Lewis, Hatton, Johnson, Folkes, Smith, Rice, and Braun. WM offered Lewis, Johnson, and Hatton first; Elon offered Folkes, Smith, Rice, and Braun first.

2021 MBB Recruiting
Shame, I thought we were in a strong position with Nunez for 2021. Still may be good, but it opens the door for more exposure.

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think you take an extra postgrad year to come back to an offer you already had, unless you don't progress. I think we move on, regardless.

I think it depends on the reason for re-classifying; if it’s solely about getting more offers that’s one thing but if there are personal or pandemic reasons then maybe the door is still open.

I wonder if Coach Fischer knew about this last month; I thought WM was in a good position with Nunez, whom was the only offered big man Fischer was following, and then Fischer started following Hatton out of the blue. Based on Fischer following Hughey not long after Molloy committed to Yale, I’ve hypothesized that Fischer follows one player for each position/scholarship spot and when that player becomes unlikely to commit he follows the next offered player at that position. Fischer’s most recent follows for each position:

PG: Rice
(Previously followed Folkes and Brizzi and he still does but the assistants and even WMTribeMBB have unfollowed Brizzi)
Wing: Hughey
(Previously followed Molloy, who committed, and Thompson, who removed WM from his list)
Big: Hatton
(Previously followed Nunez who is reclassifying)

2021 MBB Recruiting
Tyler Rice mentioned this evening on Instagram that his commitment date is coming "real soon".
I feel like he is the PG we have put the most energy towards. It should be interesting if we can secure him as our 1st 2021 recruit.

RE: 2021 MBB Recruiting
Fischer and Lewis are now following each other, and Fischer, also, started following Lewis' dad. Lewis is the 6th ranked player in the Michigan 2021 class. Known for his defense and would be a great fit at W&M.

Scrolling through the 123 accounts that liked Tyler Rice’s tweet about his upcoming commitment I saw that Coach Boatner and DoBO Bollinger liked it as did a WCU assistant. I did not notice any other coaches from schools that have offered him.

Langdon Hatton picks up an offer from UMKC.

2021 MBB Recruiting
Garret Johnson Q&A-
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A SCHOOL?

“Definitely a school where I’m getting a good degree - academics are definitely important to me and my parents too. And then also a place basketball-wise where I feel like I’ll fit in their style of play, and a school where I have a good relationship with the coaching staff and I feel like they're going to develop me and be able to get me to the best version of myself and get the most out of my potential.”
