Fredericks
I dont think he played today, and don't hardly recall him getting any play the last 2 games. Going into the season I was expecting him to be a major part of the rotation, essentially replacing Evans.

RE: Fredericks
Fredricks and Broome have been underwhelming when you consider preseason predictions with this team. I thought both would have become major players if UC was 18-3 at this point. The step up from low major and Juco is real.

RE: Fredericks
Moore has taken Fredericks' minutes. They both back up the same positions (3 and 4). At the beginning of the year Fredericks was getting the majority of those minutes, but it seems Moore has outworked him in practices and outplayed him in games. Fredericks needs to turn things around or he might be looking to transfer out this summer. It won't get much (if any) easier to get minutes next year.

Juco players usually take a year to adjust. While disappointed from his production this year, senior year could be a huge difference.

Agreed. He has shown a nice shooting touch at times but seems a little lost getting into UC's system. I think he could really blossom next year. He'll be needed to play a larger role in all likelihood.

RE: Fredericks
Fredericks has a lot of intangibles that are beneficial to the team. I think lucky for us Williams and Scott have really owned the starting 3 and 4 positions which doesnt force Fredericks to be pushed into a larger role he's not ready for yet.

It seemed like back in the day they were usually ready to step in right away. Not sure if its a function of the competition in the JUCO ranks being way down or what. I think it sort of defeats the purpose of going JUCO route if they arent ready till their senior year, usually you go JUCO if you have an immediate need to fill.

The JUCO level isn't nearly as good as it used to be back in the 90's / early 2000's. The overall talent level in JUCO has dropped off dramatically.

If I recall correctly Frederick's did have some quality offers coming out last year though. Didn't we beat out a couple SEC schools for him? Maybe I'm wrong on that.

I remember Arkansas being one his finalists if not being the official runner up in his sweepstakes.

RE: Fredericks
He has a great build for Mick ball. Jaquon Parker with more bounce, and his jump shot looks like it's cut from the same cloth. Though Parker's was a little smoother.
I imagine he and Mammoudou will split time at the 4 next year after Tre leaves. Probably won't see Nas and E on the court at the same time.

Keith's and Mammoudou's development will be key for next year's team IMO....If they show up like I think they will next year's team will be better than this year's team which has started the season by winning only 18 of its first 21 games! PROGRAM.

That's correct, Tre Scott just graduated, so we could lose him as a grad-transfer, but I would expect him to be back next year.

Yeah, doubt with his sisters coming to play here next year he's going to grad transfer.

In the distant past non qualifiers went JC but now they spend a year in Prep School. The days of finding a Van Excel or Blount or Herb Jones are pretty much gone.
