i too have heard that heavy consumption of mary jane in your teens and early twenties tends to have negative implications. i can't wait to see the government mandated packaging

Not that it matters all that much, but at 18 a lot of people are still in HS.

It's not about curing. It's about a better quality of life for those with terminal illnesses and other chronic disorders.

Well---Im fine with making it similar to alcohol. Its not my thing---but the reality is pretty much anything negative you can say about weed you can say about alcohol (my preferred vice). Because the entire distribution system for weed is illegal---its actually easier for kids to get weed than it is for them to get alcohol. I do think weed tends to take away the drive and ambition of people (just based on my own anecdotal observations of folks)--but I doubt its cost to society approaches the societal costs of alcohol. Make it legal, tax it---and have all weed tax revenues go only to either Social Security or the national debt (take your pick).

But if we’re using our own experience, I’ve seen people helped by it. Not cured, but with relief of symptoms.

True, but measurable in your system and 'under the influence' are not the same thing. This is going to be a problem until we determine some level of sobriety... like 0.8 BAC. Otherwise it can be legal and you can still lose your job over it in most states/many situations. Cop goes on vacation and smokes a joint, comes back 2 weeks later and catches a murderer who then gets off because the cop had THC in his system.

Regulate it like alcohol. 21 to buy/use/posses without a prescription. Illegal to drive a car, operate machinery, use a gun while 'under the influence'.... once we define that.

It's not GOOD for you, but neither is smoking and drinking... which is essentially what MJ is to me. and I personally know people who weren't 'cured' by MJ, but were kept from starvation or suicide from pain because of it.

Have a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" philosophy with everyone else unless it becomes a problem or starts to create crime in a neighborhood. In other words, adopt a "I better not see it out in public" stance but in your own home ?

Smoke and grow whatever you want unless it starts to become a problem for neighbors.

Regardless though, don't say I didn't warn ya' when if it turns your brain into slush or if it makes your kids even more stupid than they were when they were being raised by the TV.

Some of the smartest people I know smoke regularly. Just sayin.

21 years old is the number. If you are a soldier at 18 yrs old you should be able to shoot but not own guns. 21 yrs old to vote is the key.
