Those schools are in their footprint. I could see in the future if they would add a school from D2? It could be Central Washington. I think that may improve their RPI some that way.

Those schools don't HAVE Division I RPIs. Whatever RPI they have now is based on a Division II schedule. This one of the dumbest things you've said. Do better.

He’s talking about in 2050. You know, when Azusa Pacific and Cal Baptist are in the Pac20

Yea, that move seems like it's good for everyone involved. Removes a geographic outlier from the Big Sky, and turning the Summit into Conference Dakotas seems like a much more enjoyable experience for UND students/alumni (and I'm sure the travel savings worked both ways). The Summit has one of the better-attended men's basketball tournaments outside of the big 6 basketball conferences, if I remember correctly, because of their favorable geography.

AT the time, Big Sky thought they were getting both UND and USD, which would allow Flight/Game/bus/Game/flight for two games. Now it is flight/game/flight
Only an idiot would schedule a game by busing between Grand Forks and Vermillion in the dead of winter. That interstate is treacherous when it’s Blizzarding and icy slow traveling conditions could last for weeks. One almost has to schedule a flight through MSP to Sioux Falls and then bus to minimize risk. Thousands of fans have had to take shelter in HS gyms in small towns over the years. Brookings and Fargo is almost just as bad, because northern SD doesn’t have much population. Grand Forks and Vermillion are two western states apart or many more eastern states.

Yet somehow, in all those years of D2 in the old NCC, buses ran between Vermillion and Grand Forks (even Omaha and Grand Forks). Sorry, he's right. The BSC schools thought they were getting a two fer eastern add. Once the USD deal fell through, buyers remorse starting creeping in, fast.

Of course they will. The Summit schools and Big Sky schools (and WAC) need to fill their OOC schedules with real D1 opponents. Agreeing to play each other is a smart, and wise move. You do realize that the Big Sky schools, even with a 20 game schedule need OOC opponents? The need to find good D1 schools willing to to come to your town and play an OOC game doesn't go away when you set up a 20 game conference schedule. It does help get rid of the non-D1 games (D2 and NAIA).

By NoDak's Logic, since NAU has had recent Home and Home Football games with:

UNI
South Dakota
Western Illinois
Illinois State (on-going)
Missouri State (starting this year)
South Dakota (2019/20)

that NAU is on the cusp of an invite to the MVFC.

Well I guess we are losing the 4 Dakota schools to the Great North, guess NAU would be a replacement for them.

We will have played the Coyotes four times in a decade. surely that means we are destined to be in a conference with them.

So the travel pairs are:

NAU/SUU
EWU/Idaho
Sac State/Portland State
Montana/Montana State
Idaho State/Weber State

Northern Colorado the floater (hence the need for Monday games)

RE: Big Sky moves to 20 games
NAU announces 2018-2019 Schedule. Only two OOC home games (no DII games yet, so I expect at least one home)

https://nauathletics.com/news/2018/7/23/...edule.aspx

OOC

NOVEMBER
Saturday 10 JACKSONVILLE
Monday 12 at South Dakota
Wednesday 14 at Omaha
Sunday 18 at Hawaii
Thursday 29 at UC Davis
DECEMBER
Saturday 1 at Santa Clara
Saturday 8 UTAH VALLEY
Saturday 15 at San Jose State
Wednesday 19 at San Francisco
Friday 21 at Utah

We do play two Summit, two Big West and two WCC teams. Must mean those conferences are fighting who gets to add NAU, right?

Clearly, NAU is on the move to one of those conferences. Gotta find a FBS home for the football team though.
