Note that you can sort the report by any column, revenues, expenses, subsidy, % subsidy, conference, alphabetical.

The Pac 12 has 6 of the bottom 15 reporting P5 schools in terms of donations + ticket sales.

Wash St 15.9M
Ore St 23.1M
Utah 26.1M
Ariz St 29.8M
Colo 29.8M
Ariz 33.7M

Houston and New Mexico seem reasonable Pac 12 options, just looking at fan dollar support (which would rise for those schools with P5 membership).

Longhorns and Aggies lay in greenbacks. Horned Frogs lay in wins.

Of the bottom 34 G5 + indies in self-generated revenue, only San Jose is from the MWC or AAC. Only Arkansas St. cracks the MWC/AAC monopoly of the top 18. ODU is #19, ULL #20, Utah St., next to last in the MwC, is #21.

RE: Texas and Texas A&M top $200 million
A little over $60M in revenue for my alma mater-- not bad. We'll be generating a lot more revenue from our basketball arena re-do which opens up this academic year. We'll be taking a hit as we lose out on the Big East exit fee revenue-- hopefully that new AAC media deal helps bridge that loss (enter obligatory reply from MWC fan telling us the AAC will only be making $3M a year or less per team).

Every AAC member over 45 million in revenue even before the new TV deal. We're starting to see some group separation in revenues between P6 and G4.

If anything it gives a lot of support to the idea of a tweener conference but certainly not a P6.

The AAC has members with revenues larger than members of the B12 and ACC, so I think it does.

I wonder what the red text with the asterisk means in the allocation figures.

It means they netted out the amount paid back to the University

Edit: Probably. If you click on the red it'll tell you the notes but all the ones I clicked on said that.

RE: Texas and Texas A&M top $200 million
The general strategy is that “more spending leads to more wins,” said David Berri, a sports economist and professor at Southern Utah. "No, it’s probably the other way around: If you win more, you’ll have more revenue and can spend more money. That’s why we end up with this.”

Don't be silly. Average total revenue for reported (i.e., public) schools based on the USA Today data:

SEC: $142M ($141M)
Big Ten: $125M ($120M)
Big 12: $116M ($113M)
ACC: $102M ($94M)
Pac-12: $98M ($91M)

AAC: $58M ($32M)
MWC: $44M ($24M)
MAC: $32M ($11M)
CUSA: $32M ($13M)
SBC: $28M ($11M)

The gap between P5 and G5 is even more stark if you subtract out the total allocated (this average is in parentheses).

If anything it gives a lot of support to the idea of a tweener conference but certainly not a P6.

The AAC has members with revenues larger than members of the B12 and ACC, so I think it does.

It’s understandable that you want to think that.

A look at the conference totals and averages makes it impossible for any reasonable person to believe there is a P6.

I'd say you have to subtract out the subsidies first. E.g., my USF had $49m in athletic 'revenue', but $21m is from soaking our students with fees, so the actual amount is really $28m.
