I think ODU is on track to get our subsidy levels to ~55% that will be enforced by the state of VA starting next year if i am not wrong.

Probably a little closer than that 62% because we're allowed to exempt certain categories for that calculation. Indirect costs paid back to the university and spirit groups are two I know of. That'd get us a little under 60% by my calculation. Here's our full financial statements as submitted to the NCAA:

Judy was not spending it appropriately. Lets see what Mike Hill can do with it. Judy demanded that what was done for MBB and to be done for WBB, etc. We're going to see a prioritization moving forward of revenue sports and an emphasis on competing for conference championships in every sport. Hill has stated that numerous times, we're not fielding teams just to have them anymore.

USM gets the most bang for the buck. Have to say ODU and Charlotte should be doing a hell of a lot better based on funding.

04-cheers thanks mturn. We might need to step up our donation game if we want to get that second phase of the stadium quickly. I am glad we are moving in the right direction despite of that turd ball Cox's bill.

Lol what else do you want. ODU has been consistent in every sport. Get over the losses or go hang out with herdzoned. Pathetic.

My understanding is donations for capital projects aren’t or shouldn’t be included in these figures or the Cox calculation. But yes we’ll need heavy fundraising because debt obligation payments and student fees are included in the calculation.

Yeah, we need some trophies to show for it though.

He has a point. We are incredibly mediocre at what we do with that budget.

Methodolgy states that debt service for capital projects is to be included as an expense so it follows the funds used to pay that debt is income.

Still think losses to you in basketball mattered to us last season, lol. That's cute.

PS losing every game you play for ten years is also considered consistent.
Consistent just means you aren't moving up or down. Careful consistent doesn't become stagnant.

The Judy Rose legacy......doing the least with the most for way too long. This is what happens when you stay in a position for about 15 years too long.

The gap between Texas and Alabama State is pretty wild

Thank you. It wasn’t meant to slam the school; just a comment that if money was the only indicator of success, many schools wouldn’t have any. USM does a damn nice job for having the lowest budget. Hell, my Herd could do a bit better as well.

WKU in terms of on the field/court production gets the most bang for the buck by far.....La. Tech does not do too bad either as far as producing on field/court with limited resources out in middle of nowhere....

I think ODU could stand to find some efficiencies with our spending. We have a budget hire basketball coach and our football coach is below the conference average, if I recall correctly. I understand we have a stadium to pay for, but yeah. Would be nice if spending meant success.
