RE: Speaker-in-Waiting Curb Stomped
Ocasio becoming the next representative from the district that had Crowley doesn't faze me at all. She's just replacing one loon with another...her. She probably doesn't have a Republican facing her so she probably is in Congress already. If she defeated a Republican then I'd be worried.

holy shite, she's selling out before she is even elected.

This is what happens when you elect community organizers. This is what the alt-left wanted. Enjoy!

I don't like the direction of either political wing. So-called moderates, shrinking by the day, are alarmed by the growing popularity of the "alt right" and "democratic socialists." It's a race toward purity-test extremes on both ends of the spectrum. But that's what happens when society now gets their primary news discussions from Facebook/Twitter arguments and Willy Wonka memes.

That's pretty much where I'm at. I don't like the direction of the democrats or republicans. I learned it from trying to participate with both parties when I was younger.

Both parties only serve to punish the other side and neither will get things done in the long run.

It's sad because I think I'd be a good center republican in other circumstances. I'd join if they could demonstrate for even two weeks that they don't just simply wish to make dems wish they were never born.

Nomad, wishing for that is like wishing your kids stop fighting in the back seat. They'll both say, "he started it" and nothing will be gained from it.

I know. It's why it hasn't been worth it to join either. That'll just make me one of the kids and as an adult I'd rather stop the car whoop both their asses.

The magic of the chancla.

A.) She comes from a well to do family
B.) Her dad was probably largely absent

D.) Has some real skeletons in her closet

From a CNN story...

Ocasio-Cortez's own story begins in the Bronx, the same borough that, along with parts of Queens, delivered for her on primary day. She was born and raised there, the daughter of working class Puerto Rican parents -- her father born in the South Bronx (he died in 2008, while she was in college); her mother on the island -- she went on to study at Boston University and work in the the office of liberal lion Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts.

When she returned home, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a community organizer and, eventually, with economic stresses rooted in the recession and the loss of her father taking hold, began low-wage, long-hour work at restaurants to help support her family.

Sounds like no to 1 and 2. Who knows about 3 and 4. She did tweet out something about Cynthia Nixon this morning if that means anything.

I used to live in the Bronx (1971 to 77). When I was growing up as a kid there in the 'lovely' 1970's, that borough was 1/3 white, 1/3 hispanic and 1/3 black basically. Now it's 40 percent black, 40 percent hispanic and about 10 percent white. I'm shocked a white man would have been running unopposed in that district for years (although the district does encompass parts of Queens too which likely would have been much more white than the Bronx).

Sounds like the Democrat party's answer to Trump is to move further and further left. And elect more women. Which will likely leave us with Warren, Gillibrand or Harris in 2 years to run against Trump.

It's always scary when you see "Community Organizer" as an earlier primary job...........you just know it leads to someone being a loony leftist.....

And let me introduce the democratic-socialist candidate for president in 2020......Hussein II.

Nope she's not eligible to run in 2020. She's only 28. Hell, she's barely eligible in 2024 (she turns 35 in October of that year).
