I actually think this is a great break for us. We have alot of confidence comming off the Nebraska win but I'm not sure that we could keep up w/Cal had we played them this week. I worry that the players may read the press clippings & get a little big headed going into Thursday night's game.

We get a week off to prep for the game @Tulane, then @ USF, Houton, @ Alabama & ECU. This could be a very good run for USM.

I think it is worse!!! You guys had momentum and could have used it to pummel Cal. But at least you get an extra week for Tulane.

It depends on Cal's season ... I think ya'll would have beat them on thursday, but if they only have one loss at the end of the year, that game could be what the voters need to see to give ya'll the props you deserve.

I have a feeling looking at their schedule, they'll be top ten at the end of the year (once the pretenders shake out) ... it could be the heavens making a way for Southern Miss to crash the BCS.

I think it is better for us. If Cal is undefeated in Dec and we beat them, I think it carries more weight. It also gives us a chance to gel on offense before facing them. We will need to score more than 21 points to beat them and the D can't be the source of all those points. I think it will set up to be a very important and exciting game at the end of the season. Who knows, it could be two highly ranked, undefeated teams in December;-)

an additional thought - if USM & Cal are both ranked & have outstanding records ESPN would be foolish not to show the game.
