The Big 12 should go after the markets it lost by adding Missouri State and Col St. Give Missouri St one of those deals where they get nothing for 15 years.

Outside the box expansion idea
The B12 will never get the Colorado market again, aside from Alums and students, not many people there care about them. It is CU country all the way. As much as I hate to admit it the UCF-USF duo would make the most sense.

The Big 12 and networks didn't think so the last cycle, but let's say the Big 12 were to add Cincinnati, Houston, UCF and USF. Cincinnati is a solid all-around addition to the conference. Solid football. Strong basketball. Penetration into the Ohio market. Houston brings strong football and - now - solid basketball. They, too, would be a solid all-around addition to the conference. Additionally, it keeps the focus in the Southwest, and probably keeps Texas happy. Finally, and perhaps most impactfully, UCF and USF: you get two schools that have over a combined 100,000 students, strong football, potential to be solid in basketball, and - most importantly - access into Florida, where Texas and Oklahoma can annually travel to and recruit from. As an added bonus, if the Big 12 witnesses Oklahoma and Texas depart, it will have a strong contingent of West Virginia, TCU, Baylor, Iowa State and this group (among others) to rebuild and reload the conference.

If the Big 12 wanted to grow, and not just stay content with the status-quo, why not go for these additions and see the following divisional alignment?

UT/OU
TCU/BU
TT/OKST
UH/ISU
KU/KSU
UC/WVU
UCF/USF
