1983 California Bowl
Need some Huskie football to carry over to Labor Day weekend? Try the original, unedited airing of NIU’s only bowl of the 20th Century. Commercials (Gatorbait!) and bonus coverage of the never-seen 3rd quarter included. Anyone here attend Bill Mallory’s final game in Fresno?

Thanks for posting this video! I was there. If you go to 2:28:30 in the video I’m the guy on the far right.

Thank you, that was fun. Some of the commercials were surreal. RIP Bill Mallory.

Old Time football played on grass with a muddy field. I love those games.
I really liked what the MAC was trying to do by creating a "Rose Bowl" experience.
You had a team from the Midwest play a team from the West Coast in California.
I wish we had a similar matchup now and play it in Las Vegas.

Lou Wicks: "This is my last game. I'm going all out." Did he ever.

Not Las Vegas! Too much there to distract the players. The game needs to be played in Muscatine, Iowa. No beaches. Nothing to do but prepare for and play football.

Iowa is too close. They would not want to go and play.
We tried that last year in Detroit and that didn't work out.
Maybe somewhere in Kansas on a farm.

That hit Tyrell put on the DB at the 40 minute mark ranks right up there with Lynch against Akron.
