Riley was obviously a great college QB

No offense to Riley but his lack of NFL interest shows that Norvell and staff know how to run a great offense regardless of who’s under huddle.

It’s the system that works

It is good news but I think Miller was the straw that stirred the drink last year. We will really miss him.

I don't agree. I think we will not take much of a step back at all, if not even possibly take a step forward.

I hope you are right...

But Miller essentially caught 1/3 of the balls from Ferguson last year for well over 1/3 of the total yards and just short of half the TDs.

Miller had almost 3 times as many yards as the guy in second place...He was a special talent...Hopefully others can step up.

It's all about the hands, and who gets open now that Miller's gone. My feeling is that there is a good chunk of truth to what YOU are saying, but also a big chunk of truth in what I felt last year, and that is: Ferguson locked in on Miller the majority of the time. There's no saying he wouldn't have been just as successful in hooking up with Pollard or Proctor, etc. But I WILL SAY, Miller made some of the most amazing grabs I have ever seen, maybe some that no one else was capable of.

Agree...Miller was Riley's safety blanket. When he needed a play he would lock onto Miller unless there was an obvious early read someone else would be open.

Admittedly, I pay more attention to stats after the games as 8 boys keep me busy IRL. As a HUGE fan of AM, I don't think it's crazy to think the offensive will be okay w/o him. One of the knocks against him was consistency and easy catchable ball drops. While the Tigers may not realize as many circus highlights, total production should not see a drop off if QB play is serviceable.

Riley did not walk away...Tampa did want to sign him, but not to a guaranteed deal and he wanted to look for a situation with more guarantees.

I am only repeating what Cross said in an interview. Including "football isn't for everyone".

Maybe implicit in his meaning was, "and all that implies..." As in, not just playing football at the pro level, but the bureaucratic BS that comes along with it.

8 boys?? They have a cure for that now you know. My mama raised 4 boys and she was certifiably insane by the time the first one reached adulthood.

It's going to take a special player to provide us with the excitement that AM could generate.

I heard that Furgeson and Miller a lot of time offseason on perfecting the timing. I believe that Miller, without all that practice, would still be a great player. But, with all that extra practice, helped Furgeson and Miller have a really productive career.

Wait, are you saying that players that practice with a purpose and put in the time to be great have better results than players that just do the average amount of work ? 04-jawdrop
