The Red Hen restaurant has a legal right to refuse service.

They also, in my opinion, are an embarrassment to my home state. I hope that this restaurant fails, and the owners are forced into bankruptcy. Just so long as it is a market result of her mean and uncalled-for behavior, and not due to gov't force.

I believe an individual has the right to run their business based on their beliefs and business model. The public will decide if the business will be successful. As for myself, I would never darken the door of the Red Hen, and hope their business fails. Hope they don't plan on expanding into Texas.

I was really surprised that Lexington is the most Liberal VA town west of Charlottesville. The HOME of VMI (the last ALL MALE military school), There was also once a lot of tobacco farms in this part of the state. Demographics like that are not usually associated with liberalism. Trump got 61% of Rockbridge county vote the county Lexington is in, while Hillary got 61% of the vote in Lexington.

An owner should have freedom from government interference in who he chooses to serve. However, you should have no protection from the free market reaction to your business decisions. Frankly---Im absolutely shocked that any owner would make his politics known in a nation thats pretty much split 50/50. Why alienate 50% of your clientele?
