I know, I know...NTR, and he was standoffish on Twitter after losing his job. But it's still cool to see a guy who spent 11 years as Tubby Smith's workhorse land on his feet with a good job.

If nothing else, I can say thanks for doing his best to keep it afloat the last two years. Couldn't have been easy doing the work of an entire assistant coaching staff by yourself.

Menzies is like a Tubby Smith who can actually recruit.

glad to see it. Joe was the only member of the staff I had any sympathy for. The others deserved to be fired.

Happy for him that he got his dream job. I'm not sure he's going to be recruiting. The job description is confusing. Anyway...Much Success to him!

At UNLV, Esposito is replacing the program’s former special assistant to the head coach, Keith Brown, who left to become an assistant coach at Fresno State.

Menzies said. “He will oversee several components of our operation – areas that are vital to our overall continued growth. I have a long-standing relationship with Joe and I’m confident that his background and knowledge will enhance an already excellent staff.”

“My dream job has always been UNLV," Esposito said,"and I want to thank Coach Menzies for his faith in me. He has the program headed in the right direction and it is truly an honor to now be a part of Rebel Nation.”

Happy for Mr. #BAM. He served us well and should be congratulated for his new position.

I think he's definitely a guy that can be a key component of a top notch staff.

He just needs proper training in how to be an assistant. The Tub did everything he could to ruin him and make him think no one knew better than the Tub.

Yeah doesn't sound like he is a true assistant coach...

Honestly seems like what Tubby did here last year, bringing in his buddy to get an easy check on Memphis' dime

Esposito was the only assistant coach who worked with the effort befitting the title at a high major D-1 school. He had to carry a heavy pile of dead weight.

Makes me wonder too... If Tubby is coach at Memphis still, would GG find his way on the Memphis staff?
