Remaining Undefeated Teams (Before Week 0)
This is the thread for people who love lists :) For anyone new, basically what I’ll do is each week post the teams with their 1st loss and the remaining undefeated teams. As the season progresses, I’ll add a 1-loss team list and a winless team list and note potential bigger games for the various teams. We can see how this lists change through the year.

Conference changes this year:
We have a few changes this year, most involving the Sun Belt in one way or another. Coastal Carolina, which started its transition last year to FBS (I-A) has now completed it, is a full member of the Sun Belt, and will be eligible for both the inaugural Sun Belt Championship Game and for a bowl. The Sun Belt did not renew their football only membership for New Mexico State or Idaho however (the 2 orphans from the end of the WAC). New Mexico State starts playing this year as an independent. Idaho has dropped down to FCS and joined the Big Sky and thus will not be on the lists this year. It should also be noted, with the addition of the Sun Belt Championship game, this will be the first year without any conference using the traditional scheduling model.
-Our other change comes with Liberty starting the transition to FBS status, coming in as an independent.

Maximum number of Undefeated Teams at the End of the Regular Season:
14: The 10 conference champs, plus Notre Dame, Army, and a maximum of 2 of BYU/UMass/New Mexico State

Week 0 Games: This Saturday, teams who play at Hawaii are allowed to host games, so we have 4 teams potentially being removed from this list even before week 1. Two of the games involve FCS (I-AA) teams so we might only lose 2 teams. The games this week are: Duquesne @ UMass, Parire View @ Rice, Hawaii @ Colorado State, and Wyoming @ New Mexico State.
-Most interesting game to me there is probably Hawaii and Colorado State simply because it is a conference game. Wyoming and New Mexico State have a lot closer line though.

Remaining Undefeated Teams: ACC: 14, American Athletic: 12, Big 12: 10, Big Ten: 14, Conference USA: 14, MAC: 12, Mountain West: 12, PAC-12: 12, SEC: 14, Sun Belt: 10, independents: 6, total: 130

You must have been doing this for quite a while! Your teams are ordered in pre-2011 alignments.

PS: You have Idaho in there instead of ULM.

All I know is that around half of them will no longer be undefeated after their first game.

I really think it's cool you do this every year. Thanks for all the work you put into this.

But as cool as this list is, I also believe its time you re-sort your list of schools in an order that makes sense in 2018. I Don't care how you sort it, could be alphabetical if you want, but it needs updating.

Thanks again

RE: Remaining Undefeated Teams (Before Week 0)
Thanks guys. Corrections are in there.

I didn't update the order yet, but probably will. Right now it is based on how the conferences were when I first saw a list like this (just someone crossing off teams as they lost in a signature) and have simply added all new FBS teams to the list at the bottom in the order they came. Was thinking it was kind of a nice nod to where things came from, but it admittedly probably makes more sense to have in order of current conferences given we look so much at those.

Last year we lost 36.15% of the teams :-) I always forget how many teams are playing FCS games that week until I look at the list.

In your post you said schools that play at Hawaii can host a game week 0, but I’m reality they don’t have to host. Wyoming was at NMSU and Wyoming is the one that plays at Hawaii, sane with UMass.
