FAU will almost definitely have to win in Norman to play in a NY6 bowl.

A win over UCF could do the trick. As long as FAU has the best record of the g5, that is all that matters.

And winning your conference.

Just a thought: what if Lane just happened to catch lightning in a bottle last season? I’m not saying that is true, but what if he really did just have one heck of a lucky breakout season? How would FAU fans feel if they went 6-6 this year (not saying it will happen, just curious).

The fact that I perceived it in such a short period of time truly speaks volume to your inability to read, mate. Lol. I wish you all the best in your literacy endeavors.
You're Australian or a pirate now?

What's your issue? Or is it volumes?

That could only happen if UNT goes 0-12.

I doubt he would go 6-6 but I do believe he is getting a bit too much credit for how FAU performed last season. The previous coach (Partridge) left him alot of talent that had finally matured and finally stayed healthy (especially the O-line). Most of that talent returns this season. If he sticks around, which I doubt, it will be interesting to see how Kiffin does at building a program of his own players. He does not have a good track record so far.

If you follow me on twitter you would know that I have FAU beating UNT this season. I wasn’t trying to say FAU JUST got lucky. If it were my team I would be concerned too that maybe it was a fluke (again I’m not saying it was, just pointing out a possibility).

Oh, I got it now. You're a bit slow. I just thought you weren't able to read. I apologize. The next time you directly reply to me with ignorance, I'll try to remember that you only need a little extra help. It's much easier for me to rewrite what is said directly above in the same thread than have this insane diatribe about Australians and pirates with you.

I hope you're having a great weekend.

RE: Kiffin (finally) signs 10-year, $9.5 mil contract
I'm not sure why Kiffin would really want to leave. The guy is making decent money at a school that doesn't make going undefeated and winning National Championships a must. He has already been there and tried that. He has coached in the NFL where that I can imagine is a daily grind of many hours almost all year. He is at a school where he only needs to recruit good players to make a big impact. So he is not competing against Alabama, USC, Michigan, etc. for recruits. He is living in Florida where there is no state income tax so that $950k stretches a little farther. He is already the King of the campus so his ego gets fed.

The only reason that he would leave is because of his ego. He wants to do all of those things listed above that if we are being honest he cannot do at FAU.

I mean, you know the answer is we'd obviously be disappointed. But, I'd be more concerned for North Texas. As La Tech fans like to point out, y'all did only win 3 conference games (1 OOC game) by 3 points or less. If that doesn't scream lightning in a bottle, I don't know what does.

Yup, Kiffin always said it was Charlie's team. He'd often text him with updates on the boys. Even though Coach Partridge struggled to win games here, there's no denying he's one helluva recruiter. And he's a great guy to have a beer with too.

I agree with ya, Dowless. He can easily wait for the right offer to come along.

6-6 is a real possibility if Singletary gets hurt and the OL unravels. What would we think? We would be very disappointed. Will we be hanging ourselves from lamp posts? No. We are not used to success yet.

To answer your first question...it would be an incredible disappointment. If we drop that much it will probably because we lost Motor to injury and rash of others. But talking about lightning in a bottle, you guys squeaked out several games that could have turned your season into a mediocre season last year. I rather take my chances saying it wasn't a fluke last season considering their was only 1 close game in conference play (Marshall). Not to poke the bear, but our next starting QB will be better than Fine.

Injuries are no excuse. At least that's the word on the Rice board.

The amount of publicity he brings to FAU is worth the money alone. There is one reason the game against Oklahoma is going to be on the main FOX channel.

Injuries should not be an excuse. But if we were to lose the best player in the conference, it would be an incredible loss.

But, the fact that you didn't recognize my dry humor is slightly alarming; I should've included ellipses in all of my responses and not just the first...

This post is much better banter than your previous... thank you for stepping up your game...

And, you got too defensive when I insinuated you were illiterate... if that hit too close to home, I'm sorry... but don't be so sensitive, mate...

Obviously, the ellipses are mocking you as well.... I'd really hope I wouldn't need to explain it... but you didn't catch on the first go-around...

Thank you for the well wishes...
