St Francis NY adds DI men’s volleyball
St Francis in Brooklyn becomes the 23rd Di program in men’s volleyball. There are 45 programs competing at DI, but many of them are D2 schools.

Recently, Minnesota had organized a HS boys volleyball league, but is not yet sponsored by its state HS association.

There are 11 D1 schools east of the Mississippi:
Ball State
George Mason
Harvard
Loyola-Chicago
New Jersey Tech
Ohio State
Pennsylvania State
Princeton
Purdue-Fort Wayne
Sacred Heart
Saint Francis (PA)

And 17 of 20 D2 schools:
Alderson Broaddus
Barton College
Belmont Abbey College
Charleston (WV)
Coker College
Emmanuel College (GA)
Erskine College
King
Lees-McRae College
Lewis
Limestone College
Lincoln Memorial
McKendree
Mount Olive
North Greenville
Queens (NC)
Quincy

D2 has 3 teams starting in the next 2 years, all in the east:
Daemen College 2018-19
Urbana 2018-19
Lander 2019-20

D3 sponsors a separate championship and included 89 of 93 schools east of the Mississippi.

The EIVA (Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) is the most probable conference for SFC, which has the other NEC St. Francis (SFU in PA).

Penn State
Harvard
Sacred Heart
U of Charleston (WV) D-II
George Mason
Princeton
New Jersey Tech
St. Francis U (PA)

The other 4 "eastern" schools you list are more accurately Great Lakes Midwest, and belong to the MIVA (Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association), which also has 8 schools.

Ball State
Loyola-Chicago
Ohio State
Purdue-Fort Wayne
Lindenwood U (MO) D-II
McKendree U (IL) D-II
Quincy U (IL) D-II
Lewis U (IL) D-II

This is a sport that mixes D-I and D-II, and only has 4.5 scholarships required.

This link says the conference status of St Francis NY is not yet set, but the EIVA or the IVA are likely.

https://volleymob.com/st-francis-brookly...l-program/

Ther IVA men’s vollyball association in the east called Independent Volleyball Association but doesn’t have an autobid yet. It has DII schools like Alderson-Broaddus, Lincoln Memorial, Queens, and Coker.

A couple more teams might do it for the IVA. It would help Increase the NCAA field from 6 to 8.

There aren't many D-I schools left that don't sponsor women's soccer:
  • Bethune-Cookman
  • Coppin State
  • Florida A&M
  • Maryland-Eastern Shore
  • Montana State
  • Morgan State
  • Norfolk State
  • North Carolina A&T
  • North Carolina Central
  • Savannah State (leaving Division I on June 30, 2019)
  • Virginia State

MEAC members Delaware State and South Carolina State are the only independents left now that Hampton is moving to the Big South; Howard is an affiliate of the SWAC.

Virginia State is not Di.

So basically most of the MEAC and Montana State

Wichita State, Bradley and Southern Illinois don't have women's soccer.

Bradley has men's soccer, though. Go figure
