John Ward RIP
John Ward, UT radio play by play radio announcer for football and basketball, passed away earlier today. A true legend and professional, there will never be another like him.

RIP

Yes, my dad taught at UT Memphis so I grew up a UT fan. "Give him 6" in football and "Bottom" in basketball are good memories.

I wanted to be a sports broadcaster as a kid. Nobody my age listened to games on the radio the way I did.

There are certain voices that will stay in my head forever, and three of those are Jack Eaton, Jack Cristil, and John Ward.

Sad to hear. There were guys in his generation who could paint a picture with their words. He was one of the best.
