Since we are Southern Miss we'll find a way to screw it up I'm sure like we always do. We will end up with some "first of its kind" prototype and then every high school will be wearing the same design on Friday nights this year while no other college will have it.
Indeed, the white and black are practice jerseys which is why they are much more loose fitting than the home gold. I think they are super sharp! I dig em a lot. Nothing too flashy but then again I'm a bit of a purist. Two thumbs up!
I think the gold jersey & black pants will grow on me, but my first impression is that these are TOO plain. Needs a stripe on the pants or something. Or at least strip down the helmets to match instead of using the Monroe Shocks decal and 1990s stripes.
But, hey, we hit rock bottom with the 1st Russell clown pants. Anything’s better than that stupidity.
More than anything, I just want the damned bird head on the helmets. One, there’s absolutely no need for “Southern Miss” to be spelled out on both the jerseys and the lids right next to each other. Two, we spent 12 years getting that logo trademarked. Don’t relegate it to the gloves.
So I'm reading that the gold jersey is the only official jersey everything else was just practice.... If that's true, then why in the hell did we have a big announcement party today?
I'll always love the unis from the attack eagle/late bower days. But I REALLY loved the Nike unis from the fedora era. At first glance, I'm not feeling it, but maybe they'll grow on me. Honestly I was expecting more from adidas. Hell i never thought I'd say it, but the last Russell's were better than this. Seems like whoever did this design was in a hurry and didn't give a damn. At least they're better than the 2012 garbage with the weird squiggly lines on the numbers. Oh well, stuck with it now, yet another TTT moment.

Agreed. In particular, the Nike jerseys with the oversized “Southern Miss” on the chest were the sh*t. They were simple, but sharp. There’s a difference between minimalist and just plain lazy.
I can see why they have to pay us to wear that ******* garbage. Not only is the yellow still terrible, but its overall one of the worst jerseys ive ever seen. Not sure what i was expecting, but not that. Lets see if they match it with some yellow pants. May as well come out in a Big Bird suit. Jersey is as plain as penn st and bama, except we arent penn st or bama.

I like the practice jerseys better than the game jersey. It would be better to do a combo with Southern Miss on lids and put logo on jersey (chest or sleeves and no Southern Miss on jersey). Then, have a combo with logo on lids and Southern Miss on jersey. No need to have Southern Miss on both lid and jersey.

So does that mean the shorts are just practice? Did I miss something, or did college football go to all shorts instead of what use to be below the knee pants? I know they've gotten shorter in recent years, but good grief, these are short shorts.

Man, there's criticism and then there is EP b!tcharse whinnyness. Again, the white and black jerseys are practice jerseys. The gold jersey is a game jersey and will not be the primary home jersey. There will be a black and white game jersey which we have yet to see. I'm hearing that the black and white game jerseys will have more "designs" to them than the gold, which btw I really like. I like having the #'s on the shoulders. I mean, we are the GOLDEN eagles...not the ALL BLACK WITH A LITTLE GOLD HERE AND THERE EAGLES. Also hearing that the players and recruits love the gold jersey.
The thing I like most about them is they don't say Russell.

and notice the gold jerseys cover the stomach area while the black and white ones don't. Part of the revised NCAA rules say that jerseys must cover the stomach area
