He's quite tall for a CB. One rarely sees a 6'3" corner.

The high school measurements usually overestimate ht, but looks like a solid player that could make an impact early

Imagine the tricks that short WR's have to perform to get around him. If he is any good, i would assume he is guessing from the offers he will be a tough task for offenses to get around.

RE: 2019 C-USA Football recruits
Do UTEP and Charlotte really not have a single recruit yet? If I counted right on 24/7, they join Wyoming and New Mexico as the only FBS schools to not have a single commit. Maybe ill be proven wrong, but I feel like in year 2 of the early signing period, grabbing summer recruits will be more important than it ever has. Last year it seemed like everybody was unsure how the ESP would work and we all discovered it was ridiculous trying to recruit and sign kids in the middle of bowl season. I feel like schools and recruits have more of a plan of action now to get this all done quickly before the season starts. Does anyone else feel this way? Obviously we all know that there will be kids who were off the radar and have amazing senior seasons compared to their earlier campaigns. Maybe that is what UTEP and Charlotte are banking on filling out their class with.

Charlotte as 1 commit from 6/15 (no star).

clt says it has to be hard for Charlotte to recruit with a likely fired coaching staff.

Rice had that problem for the last 8 years.

clt says our likely scenario is that we lose to Fordham. Fire lambert. Beat appy. And then proceed to lose out.

Then we hire Mike Houston for our move to the SEC

Poor off field and on field decision to go to FAU over somewhere like UT or Stanford. The only reason I could think of would be to stay in Florida.

If you're given a preferred walk-on offer, would that show up as an offer on 247, or are only full scholarship offers shown?

Also, at FAU, he is not likely to sit behind accomplished starters for a couple of years.

Y'all need to make up your minds on what is a "good get" for schools in our conference. La Tech fans are dogging UNT for 3* recruits with zero P5 offers because that means the kid is not good enough to play at that level. If the kid has P5 offers but commits to a G5 school that is not theirs, then he isn't smart enough (Rice fans) or it couldn't have been a scholarship offer but something less like a preferred walk-on spot. 01-wingedeagle

Why don't we start with how many of your recruits had P5 walk-on offers?

Its a good get no matter if it was just a preferred walk-on from a UT or Stanford. It was more of a 'what would make a kid pick FAU (or any CUSA team) over UT or Stanford'?

Any time Southern Miss gets a kid with offers from Auburn or Alabama, I immediately wonder why.

What if I kid just liked UNT over whatever P5 school that also gave him an offer? Maybe he was a fan growing up? Maybe he wanted a chance to play from day one? Maybe he liked the coaching staff? maybe he liked the way they play? There are many reasons a recruit might pick a G5 school over a P5 school.

Are there? Maybe a P5 like Kansas but not Stanford. The only reason would be family being close at FAU. Or else he’s passing up top notch academics and top notch athletics some short sighted poor reason. If you actually get a full ride to play there (which he supposedly did) going to FAU is an awful decision.

Did it occur to you, that anyone going to a top P5 program would have to toil on the bench for 2-3 seasons, while, at FAU, he could start right away or after the redshirt? That's not a reason good enough for you?

And most of the NCAA football players do not care as much about academics as they do about NCAA football.

And most of the NCAA football players do not care as much about academics as they do about NCAA football.

Good players aren’t afraid to compete for positions. The percentage of NCAA football players who make it in the pros is so small you’re incredibly dumb to turn down a better education for an extra 2 years of starting football that hardly anyone watches. So yes it did occur to me I just think it’s a very poor decision.

Now we all know your statement on academics is sadly true... Rice has had more of a problem in basketball lately than in football. Guys who are never going to play in the NBA transferring for a much worse degree will never make sense to me. Some of these guys would have trouble making a 3rd level league in Europe but they’d rather go somewhere where they’re glorified as “athletes” like they were in HS for the remaining time they have in college. At a high ranking academic P5 like Michigan, Stanford, UT you get both.

As of 7/14 Old Dominion has 14 commits for the 2019 season, but eight of them have yet to be rated by 247Sports, although five of those eight have been committed since mid-to-late-June.

https://247sports.com/college/old-domini...ll/Commits

At this point, I do not have any reason to believe that any of them will be rated any higher than two stars once 247Sports gets around to rating them. However, when you look at their hudl videos, there does appear to be some quite capable, talented folks in that group.

My question to you folks is -- do any of you have any similar situation with 247Sports, or is this ( the delayed ratings) for some reason unknown to me that is unique to ODU among C-USA teams?
