UNT picks up wide receiver Simpson

North Texas picked up one of its most impressive commitments thus far for its 2019 class last month when Beaumont West Book wide receiver Damon Ward Jr. decided to continue his career with the Mean Green.

It turns out, Ward is bringing his teammate Deonte' Simpson with him.

Simpson, another highly regarded wide receiver, announced his commitment to UNT on Sunday.

According to 247, we currently have the #2 class in both total points & average recruit rating. The only school ahead of us in both is LA Tech.

I like the Garrison Johnson kid. However, he did take an official visit to Syracuse 3 days ago.

We seem to be following Mike Leaches' team building plan perfectly: if you can't stop them, you better be able to out score them . :)

What North Texas needs more than anything is size. That was never more apparent than in the New Orleans bowl. You guys were physically dominated.

Good pick up. Glad to see all schools taking in good recruits. Long way to signing day though.
