RE: CAA tournament moving to DC
The 4200 seat "St. Elizabeths East Entertainment and Sports Arena"? In Anacostia?
And just when I thought it was impossible for CAA leadership to become even more retarded...

RE: CAA tournament moving to DC
The A10 Tournament was in DC last season and drew well. The smart way to get to venues in DC is to stay in Northern Virginia and take the Metro. The championship being on Monday night is not ideal.
This facility is being built on part of the grounds of St. Elizabeth's Hospital. John Hinckley was confined there for many years after being found not guilty of attempting to assassinate President Reagan and his entourage in 1981.

So their goal is to put an empty gym on not-TV for the CAA Tournament. Cool. Great leadership and such.

Imagine having to deal with incompetency for football as well. He's a joke and needs to be removed.

Can you imagine if they place the camera on the side of the seats what will be seen. The place looks to be well suited for a concert rather than sports.

RE: CAA tournament moving to DC
Meh. DC is a good centrally located area. The problem was always an arena of appropriate size for the CAA 7-8K. This is a bit small. His comment about attendance, while a bit silly on the surface, does have some merit. However, it can only be a viable option if a bunch of tickets are sold. So from that standpoint he sounds ridiculous.
Rotating between N Charleston/Raleigh?;Richmond; DC/Baltimore still makes the most sense. Baltimore/DC makes most sense. Richmond is fine too. Giving the southern teams who have the highest support a rotation with North Charleston/Raleigh etc is fine too. The 3 location rotation has always made too much sense. I agree dont go further north than Baltimore due to lack of attendance, however centrally located has benefits.

St. Elizabeth's is in an awful part of DC. It might be great someday, but I promise you in won't be in 2020.
I never thought I'd long for the days of Tom Yeager, his lousy TV deals, and for the Richmond Coliseum, but "Joey D" is making Yeager look like a visionary....

That poor Charleston security guard who kept all the Seahawk fans off the floor 2 years ago must be devastated

Anacostia. Well, I guess he was looking to put the CAA tourney back in a dangerous location.

Seriously. How can you get to the point that you are holding your conference tournament in a 4000 seat arena in Anacostia, with no TV deal of which to speak, and not realize that you are moving backward?

I imagine the northern schools complained so much that they caved in and accommodated them.

Mid Atlantic location is fine, an unheard of venue that only holds 4k, is not!
