I actually drove by the complex the other day just to check it out. The arena looks really nice and the whole complex should be great. The biggest problem I foresee is lodging. The whole neighborhood is residential so people will either need to stay downtown or over in National Harbor maybe? Luckily the arena is right on a Metro line though.

It will be an interesting experiment for the conference. The arena is a 1st class facility though extremely intimate. It should show well on TV and hopefully the gameday atmosphere will be on point. I'd imagine the sight lines would be pretty nice and most every seat is right up near the action.

This looks fantastic. Would love to see this be the permanent home - great arena, right in the middle of the conference geographically, with no real home advantage for any one team. Perfect.

Lodging should be very easy - right on a metro stop, and can't be more than 15 minutes from National Harbor for those looking for something high end.

This is where my specific needs are different than others..

But as someone that attends, brings young children, and likes to go to as many games as possible - the lodging situation is a bit of a nightmare for me. I've been digging into this a lot and the options are really not great.

Seems like it could be a good model for a new basketball arena for us...
