RE: 2019 Football Recruiting Class
On the surface, this looks like the best recruiting class since Don James. This should give us all confidence that there is nothing wrong with our university. With the right coaches, we can get the talent. I know that I need to be careful in that the true judge is play on the field. I am impressed with the height of the athletes as they have room to develop into true D1 size. Congrats coaches.

Outstanding addition to this class. Can't wait to see how he is utilized.
So he committed yesterday but didn't sign today?

He verbally committed but I have not seen that he signed a NLI. Coach Lewis said in his press conference that there are still 3 open scholarships. He also made reference to "a kid from Georgia" who hasn't officially committed yet either. I don't know who that is but did have a verbal from a DB from GA who decommitted before the early period.

That fact that a recruiting class that is so heralded is ranked "only" fourth in the MAC speaks volumes about why the program has been mostly awful for so many years. Who has the #1 through #3 recruits?

RE: 2019 Football Recruiting Class
Thanks, thanksjim. I'm somewhat surprised NIU and Buffalo aren't among the top 4.
If Lewis keeps having recruiting classes like this one, or even close, when he ultimately leaves the program should be in good shape for the nest coach. Too many coaches in the past have come aboard with relatively weak talent on hand. Unfortunately, most of those same coaches didn't recruit all that well, either.

The kid from Georgia was J. Poke, committed right after the Press Conference, curious though about B. Childress.

RE: 2019 Football Recruiting Class
Have a conversation today with a Texas A&M alumnus concerning recruiting. Not saying this is what is happening with Bryce Childress how ever worth considering. There is presently a very highly rated recruit that as "committed" to A&M and needs to improve academic issues(can mean grades or test). The signing period expires in April. The school holds the slot and hopefully academic requirements are met.
Said schools don't sign them because if they don't make it academically scholarship is lost.
