More rain in Omaha this morning. Looks like it may clear this afternoon. TTech-Ark plays first game

D Pierce - admirable job this year. The progression of the team was fun to watch. Had the feel of a Wayne Graham approach.

Better than our DNQ?

When we dont qualify, the wailing of the orange is not a wholly satisfying make-up result; but, at least it is a positive offset to the DNQ. And, tbh, the thread *is* titled CWS.....

But the T-Sip 2&Q and the Rice season are pretty much independent items, I am sure you are aware. Kind of like me saying 'the cherries rock this year', and my wife has to have the urge to make sure some water is thrown on it by saying 'well the raccoons ate the the cantaloupes, so I hope the cherries more than make up for it...'

f'in racoons.

I will say that the Greater Austin area is world renowned for its Barbeque. So there is that factor.

Oregon State with a three-run double in the top of the eighth to tie the game at six apiece.

UNC then proceeds to intentionally walk a batter, then walk the next two to walk in a run to make it 7-6 Oregon State.

T-Sips traveled all the way to Omaha for theirs.

Florida eliminates TT 9-6.

That leaves 3 SEC teams, MS State, Florida and Arkansas, and Oregon State.

Do y'all think Henderson has eliminated the 'interim' tag by his name at MS State at this point?

Arkansas eliminates Florida so they're in the finals against either Oregon State or Mississippi State.

RE: 2018 CWS
I hate the idea that all the last 8 were P5 and that so many had "State" in their name.

But I lean a bit toward MissSt, as the best of a bad lot, and for an odd reason.

I rode a bus to the Liberty Bowl, and we were the only Rice fans on the bus. I dreaded the ride back, for obvious reasons. But the MSU fans showed a lot of compassion and restraint, and I have always been grateful for that.

So, out of default, I am for MissSt.

Not an odd reason at all.
