Former Indiana and current Texas Southern coach Mike Davis is rumored to be new coach at Detroit-Mercy, but no official announcement yet.

TSU Regents reportedly trying to come up with more money to keep him.

UDM hasn't had a coach since March 26 when Bacari Alexander was fired.

He'd do a good job.

Kinda crazy there still no announcement from UDM.

It's not a good job.

And he has no "ties" to Detroit.

Money aside, Davis must really want out of Texas Southern.

They had to play their first 13 games on the road last season (lost them all) to try to make money for athletic department.

Bad destination for any coach.

Apparently a done deal

You're right, it's not a good job to go from $250k to $450k.

Regarding he doesn't have any connections to Detroit, how many connections did he have with TSU???

Davis will be just fine by just hiring a couple Detroit based assistants.

UAB people seem to hate him (before my time), but he did well while he was there. Seems like a good pickup for Detroit Mercy
