QB Caleb Martin Transfers
...to Division 2 Tiffin University.

So our lone QB commit of the 2017 recruiting class ends up being a D2 player after just one year. Man who missed the ball on that one?

RE: QB Caleb Martin Transfers
1) Phillip Ely is QB Coach/Passing Game Coordinator at Tiffin

2) Not every QB is going to be a stud. Every team "misses the ball" on numerous recruits every year. UT was his only D1 offer, so I highly doubt the coaches thought he would be the next coming of Bruce.

3) We have plenty of capable/soon to be capable QBs on the roster. Guadagni, Eli Peters (transfer from Illinois), 2 high rated freshman QBs.

And another in the 2019 recruiting class.

RE: QB Caleb Martin Transfers
One or two QB commits per year coupled with the occasional transfer in should be enough to keep our offense fluid and moving. I know that transfers are part of the game but I hate to lose anyone. But on the other hand I’ve seen guys that some schools are happy to see certain players leave. Or wish someone would transfer out

Martin always seemed like a bit of a reach and that's a crowded talented room

I feel bad for him. He was way down the depth chart. He is talented and I wish him luck at Tiffin. He goes from UT to TU. Can't go wrong with Phillip Ely as his QB coach and Tiffin plays in a very tough GLIAC Conference.

Seems strange for a UT quarterback that came from Florida to be coaching at Tiffin. Does that mean Ely likes the weather up in Ohio better than Florida? Or is there a connection between Toledo and Tiffin that got him an opportunity to get into coaching at a college level quicker?

Even more so for guys like Jalen Reese and Michael Julian. they stayed their entire careers at UT and never reached the level they likely had hoped for. Seems they value getting their degree at UT more than transferring to a smaller school to get playing time.

Looks like Jordan Fair, who was #2 LG going into the MACC game, has also transferred to Tiffin U. Seems Atariwa, Heidecker, and Haslem are top 3 at LG.

Getting a job at any college right out of school is tough. A couple years at Tiffin could lead to better jobs. Obviously the UT coaches know the Tiffin staff quite well.

EX DB Christian Dukes is on the staff as well.

Not sure they are in GLIAC anymore. I think they moved to same league Findlay did.
