Texas QB Chandler Galban 6'1 185lbs stopped by campus today. Brother was a freshman WR at Texas Tech.

A bit surprising that he stopped by (in a good way). He is considered among the Top 15 QB's in Texas, in the Class of 2020.
He doesn’t have any offers right now but has received interest from Texas Tech, Iowa State and Tennessee. He has taken that visit (also unofficial) to Illinois and has interest from several P5 schools (including Arizona State and West Virginia).

Glad he thought enough of us to take a look.

It's the Coach Taylor effect. He handles Texas and is a good recruiter.

Tribe offer WR /DB Joe Johnson out of Richmond. 6'3 180lbs. Big, tall, and also a track guy. As far as I know, our 1st 2020 offer.

I guess we can assume from here on out for the rest of this recruiting season that anybody we offer will have previously been offered by Howard, too.

This is for the 2020 class so I hope most recruits will be offered post-November and with no mention of Howard.

Have never seen us have so many recruits who don't know the correct name. Seems like a lot of 2019 and 2020 players who have not had a lot of exposure to us before being offered.

My hypothesis is this: our staff isn't selling the school. Our staff is selling the football aspect. Hope I'm wrong...JL always put the College first because he was a W&M down the line.

I think the coaches sell what they know. They are new to the school. They hang there hats on what brought them here. Personal relationships and a belief in their system to win games. I think a better understanding will come with a longer recruitment period. This is a rushed, condensed process of trying to recruit and sell guys you had convinced Howard was the place to be, to come to W&M. Some of these kids, I'm guessing, hadn't even heard of W&M before being reached out to. I get that the lack of knowledge about the institution that offered you a scholarship is frustrating. But, it doesn't surprise me with the rapid courtship the coaches are forced into.
