JJ Pinckney ..Cincy WR transfer
Grad transfer from Cincy.... Phil Steele has him pegged as one of of WR starters.

Any scoop on him? Northern needs him at 6-3 210.

Welp....
Just 11 receptions for 171 yards last year.

But we’re so weak at WR...happy to have him.
Welcome JJ

I saw this tweet 2 weeks ago from NIU kicker (former Cincy kicker so now it makes sense) Andrew Gantz but figured it was just a mistake. Guess it’s not

I like the fact that the coaching staff keeps working it. Hopefully a solid contributor.

His family is actually pretty well known at the high school I attended outside of Toledo. I graduated with his older brother going back several years and they were always solid athletes. None were superstars but definitely good contributors. Hope he does great in every game except ours 04-cheers05-mafia

He’s depth that’s all. Our WR group really isn’t that concerning. I’ll take this group over last years situation any day. A lot of youth now available which I think are going to turn out to be a big strength in a couple years. But Cincinnati isn’t the patriots so I have a hard time believing he’ll be a rock star for us if he’s only seen scrap time. Contributor, yes. Kenny G, no.

He was a CB his first two seasons, so the low productivity at WR in 2017 is somewhat explainable. I’d imagine he would want to compete for more than just depth. He was a pretty solid 3 star recruit with offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Boston College and Minnesota. Doesn’t mean we should expect great things, but I’m sure he still has high expectations and is coming here to meet them.
