lol not a chance 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao even if we were p5 worthy in the medias eyes.
They would never let our little conference get a aq to the most prestigious ny6 bowl in the games history... but i can already see the triggered p5 fans if it did ever happen...but i like the way you think

Fools! UCONN to the PAC!
Would we trigger everyone and win the p 12 with an 8-4 record. Then we would blow out Michigan in the rose bowl and be crowned the worst team to ever win a ny6 bowl instead of the worst team to ever make a BCS bowl. HuskyU would cry tears of joy and we would claim a national title...because why not UCF did it...

You are obviously a wizard, seeing into the future.

I wonder if he could use his wizard sight to find the Civil ConFlict trophy......

Hopefully we can set our sights higher.

i mean we have to get the aq back to snag a guaranteed spot at the peach bowl for a our champ. hopefully when the contract with the cfp runs out, and they are forming a new system we will be aggressive in our pursuit for a aq. I think we will have proven ourselves by then anyway (if we haven't already)

Actually no. We could contract with the peach for any year it has a open slot. In actuality this is something Aresco has hinted at. There is a rotating extra slot in the ny6 games and sometimes an extra one on top of that. It is very possible Aresco could be trying to get the AAC a conditional slot that rotates between the Cotton and Peach. Something along the lines of if we have a top 15 team who is not the ny6 qualifier. The Liberty would slot in for our champ if we didn't meet the auto or the tie in.

With our foot print this actually makes a great deal geographical sense as the west sits nicely around Dallas. Atlanta is decently located for the east schools. Both are major airport hubs. Memphis is a decent central location for the whole league and a good destination and bowl that many of the schools have a previous good relationship with.

After that the Biringham is as close to central as it can get geographically and is probably a p5 game still. I don't mind having the Hawaii or Bhamas bowl as a nice destination reward for a team but we dont need both, so just pick one. Toss in the Independence or Sun and that's a good top 4 or 5 team bowl line up. After that it's all the same at the lower levels so grab one in Florida for the east teams and one out towards the west.

I am all in for the Liberty Bowl auto. This in itself drastically improves our bowl situation. Anything better like a Peach/Cotton is icing on the cake.

I meant like permanently. like the Big East had with their automatic qualifying at large bid. Does it still work that way as well?

That would be permanent. Currently their is no single ny6 spot open at one bowl. There is a rotational at large spot. A autonomous (i.e. cfp spot) conference designation is not required to gain the slot. Actually getting a spot would be a strong push for autonomous position. The A5's contracts with the ny6 is one of the qualifiers they used to establish autonomy.

Who ever said this. Not the NCAA or the bowls.

At least a few Cartel Commissioners.

What they meant is decrease bowl participation by the G5. All the while increasing slots for themselves.
